Freeze

My head kept dashing from Rose and White Diamond. I was being forced to pick. I always thought that I could lead a life with both of these gems, and yet. Here I was. Choosing between safety or..whatever I felt for Rose.

Everything froze.

I looked at White Diamond.

Her face stared at me sternly, eyes telling me only one thing: "If you leave, you will die." My life was pathetic with her, she made me weak. To White Diamond I'm nothing but a worthless Pearl...But I am a worthless Pearl. I don't have any powers or weapons. My form is slender and not fit for any  type of battle, defence or attack. I was made to be a slave. I will forever be a slave, wether I like it or not. Leaving White Diamond would be suicide. She is my only protection in this world. But...Do I really  want to lead a life in suffering? Spend the next thousand years as property?

I looked at Rose.

The option of going with her seemed warm and like the clear choice. But I am no simpleton, I can see past apperance. The guards would surely find us in less than 48 hours. Still, Rose had treated me kindly for the past moons. She wasn't demanding, just sweet and caring. I had yet to pinpoint my feelings for this gem. Still, I knew that I wanted Rose to feel the same way. My heart said to go with Rose, but my gem told me it would be moronic. Could all of this simply be temptation? Were her lovely eyes a lie?

I looked back and forth from White Diamond to Rose. Then from Rose to White Diamond. My head kept shaking until I stopped and analyzed the reasons to go with either side.

There were exactly 567 reasons to go with White Diamond. But there was only 1 reason to go with Rose.

I took her hand.

Everything continued in an instant.I heard White Diamond order an arrest with a yell. I heard the guards rushing towards us. I heard Rose's soft giggle as she smiled at me. Her eyes sparkled more than ever. Despite the situation, my face went warm. I barely had time to react when Rose grabbed my waist and held me. She shot herself up like a rocket. Out of pure fear I latched onto the quartz's shoulders and buried my face into them. I felt the shards of ceiling glass shatter onto us, until silence took over.

I dared look up. We were together in the sky. My eyes widened at the view. The city towers all put together to form shining colors. I had never seen anything like it. We were floating for a mere moment until Rose released and began falling. I screamed in terror and fear as we fell down through the air. We were going to hit the dome.

I was hyperventelating and my gem was burning. It couldn't take the fear anymore.

Everthing went black.
