The rain had stopped by the time I got up. My legs cramped from sleeping in a fetal position in the mud.
I hated how I felt. I was dirty, tired and my hair was a complete mess. If only I could go back home and pretend this never happened.
Then again, If I left I would lose Rose.
The sound of foreign nature rung in my ears through my walk back to the cave. Birds, frogs and more tickled my sences. In the middle of my track I stepped in a puddle of rain water and I saw my reflection. I was unrecognisible. Only then did I realize I had changed my clothes during my time in my gem. I wore a short top and leg wear.
How had I not noticed this.
Finally the cave came into sight theough the bushes and I saw a fire outside of it. Rose and Rosey were around it and chatted. They were happy.
Rose saw my figure and turned her gaze over to me.
"Pearl, you're a mess! Are you alright?", Rose called out and I got closer to to her and the flames.
"You seem injured are you alright?", Rosey asked softly as well. It was true. My entire body was covered in scrapes and cutts. I wondere how I got them. I realized that this was the first time I had heard Rosey talk. Her voice was soft and sweet.
Instead of responding I sat down near the fire and warmed my fingers, completely blocking out my partners.
We didn't talk much that night but I was able to get rid of some of the distain I felt for Rosey. She worked for Rose for a short time but she seemed to know everything about her.
"We should look around the forest tomorow, Rose loves earth's nature." The sentence almoast stung me. Envy. I felt envy because Rosey knew more about Rose than I did.
Wasn't I her most trusted friend? Thoughts like these jumbled in my mind throughout the night.
