Many, many years earlier.
--------------------------------------

The kindergarten classroom was filled with screeches and laughter from the children. A tall, brunette woman in a light blue dress shushed the kids softly. They all ran to their seats, respectfully staring up at their teacher.

"Alright, kids. We have a new student here today. I would like you to all meet her. Here she is!"  The woman pointed at the door and a small, frail little girl with a huge toothy grin stood in front of the class.

"HELLO PEOPLE!!" She raised both of her arms and waved quickly. The teacher laughed gently.

"Alright, now go sit down." The teacher led her to her seat. She sat behind a tiny brown-haired boy, who's eyes flicked to her quickly while she walked by. She flashed him a smile, and waved. The teacher showed the girl to the seat behind him, and she sat down. Not long after she sat, she felt something lightly yank her hair. She spun around, a chunk of her hair flying over her shoulder. She looked down, and noticed that it was being held together in a choppy pile, a bright pink piece of gum hitting her vision. Her eyes widened. A boy with a short mullet behind her busted out laughing, pointing at the gum.

"Stupid! You're a dummy, new girl!" He chuckled, making the girl smile lightly.

"Okay!!" She giggled, yanking the gum out of her hair. The boy continued to point and laugh. She rolled the gum into a ball, and while the mullet boy's mouth was wide open, choking on his own laughter, she leaned forward and flicked the piece of gum into his mouth. He stopped laughing, and started screaming and crying, spitting out the gum. The girl giggled lightly. The boy in front of her laughed also, watching the scene play out. She smiled at him, and he smiled back.

The girl skipped out of the school only seconds after her teacher had called recess. She scanned her eyes around the park, her eyes landing on the boy who sat in front of her, who was kneeling down on the sidewalk, drawing with chalk. She broke out into a somewhat-toothless grin. She rushed over to the boy, and plopped down next to him.

"Hiya!" She smiled to him. He softly smiled back.

      "Hello..." He said softly.

"Whatcha draaaaaawin~?" She asked, rocking back and forth. He looked down at his drawing, and kept coloring.

"A balloon." He said. ((Behehehehehe)) The girl clapped her hands together, her eyes basically sparkling.

"I like balloons! Lemme draw too!" She smiled widely.

"S-sure." The boy stuttered. The girl's eyes narrowed, and her cheeks puffed.

"How'd ya do that." She questioned. He tilted his head.

      "What?" He asked. She huffed.

"That thing. With the words. And your voice." She pouted. He raised an eyebrow.

"H-h-huh-""THAT THING YOU JUST DID WITH THE THING THAT YOU DID WITH YOUR VOICE!!!!!!!" She pointed at him, screeching. He blushed in embarrassment.

"M-my mom calls it a s-s-stutter." He muttered.

"Then you must be the stutter king!" She said triumphantly. He smiled.

"Then you're the s-s-sugar queen." He said. The girl's face contorted into confusion.

    "Whyyyyy?" She tilted her head.

"Because you're a l-likeable person...a-and everyone likes s-sugar!!" He said. She gasped happily.

"Wowie!! I love it!!"  The girl's smile got even wider, and yet again, the boy blushed. The teacher blew a whistle, and all the kids got up, running to their parents. The girl's parents were nowhere in sight. The girl stood, waving.

"I gotta go-go!! Stay cute, stutter king!" She grinned. He smiled softly.

"S-stay sweet, s-sugar queen." He laughed slightly. He stood also, and started to leave, when the girl quickly blurted out.

"HEY, WAIT!!" She yelled. He spun around, humming questionably. The girl smiled.
"You tell me your name, I tell you mine." She said, jabbing a thumb to her chest. He smiled.

"I'm Bill."

"Amy."
