The Boy Next Door's Brother

Chapter Five

I walk into theatre on Friday at lunch and everyone is already sitting down. I grab a seat next to a girl named Veronica.

"Welcome class! So today I am going to work with Romeo and Juliet only so if the rest of you want to leave, you may"

About thirty kids stand up and walk out. The only people left is me and a brown haired, green eyed, muscular guy.

"Hey" he puts his hand in front of me to shake it.

"Hi, I'm Taylor"

"Ky"

He is a couple inches taller than 6 feet.

"Okay you two need to have great chemistry on stage. The audience can tell if it is awkward. Another thing that I feel I need to mention is that there is multiple kisses in this play. Are you guys okay with that?"

Ky says "yeah sure"

No. I am not okay with that. But I don't want to be a prude. "sure"

"Okay great! So you guys can decide for yourselves if you want to practice the kiss or just wing it on stage. I recommend practicing it so it is perfect."

*bell rings*

"Think about it!"

I go to art class and tell Ryan all about me having to kiss some guy. His face goes white.

"Oh. Well it doesn't mean anything when you are acting"

"Yeah I guess. What if I'm not good?"

"I can help you practice if you want"

I start laughing and his face goes red.

"Funny. That would be like me kissing my brother"

He forces a small laugh and then he asks the teacher if he can go to the bathroom.  What was that about?

I go home and start getting ready for dinner at Ryan's.

"I'm out front...u ready?"

"I just need to grab some shoes"

I run outside to see him sitting on the curb. I walk over to him and ask if what I was wearing okay to meet his parents. He nods and tells me that I look great. We start walking to his house.

"I can't wait for you to meet my brother. He flew home the other day"

"Me too. I hope your family likes me"

"They will"

His mom opens the door with a huge smile on her face. She brings me into a very tight hug. She starts signing an talking at the same time so Ryan can understand.

"You must be Taylor! It's so nice to meet you"

"You too"

"Come on in. Sadie is in the dining room and Kyle is upstairs. KYLE!! He should be down any second"

"Do you need help with anything?"

"Yes. Can you set the table? Thank you Taylor"

"No problem"

Ryan helps me set the table up for four. Ryan points at his brother but he is turned around so I can't see him. Ryan says "Kyle come here. I want you to meet Taylor". He turns around and I'm very confused.

That isn't kyle.

"Oh hey Juliet" he winks at me.

"Good evening Romeo"
