I wake up in a hospital. There's flowers everywhere. I look around to see Matt asleep in the chair. He looks worn out.

"Matt." I whisper not realizing how dry my throat is.

I have enough energy to get a tulip from one of the vases and throw it at him. He wakes up startled before processing what happened.

"Oh my god you're awake." He says coming towards me.

"How long was I out?" I ask.

"A week." Matt responds.

"What?!" I asked shocked.

"I'm just kidding," Matt responds laughing, "just a few hours."

"I hate you." I say.

"No you don't."

"What happened to James?" I ask.

"He lost. Everything. They arrested him for cheating and for almost killing you. They took away his championships and the guys that he was bribing were also arrested."

"Good." I respond.

"And let's not forget that you won." Matt adds.

"I won? I won!"

I'm so overjoyed I don't even know what to do. This is the best day ever. If only my dad was here to see this. I would jump up in joy, but everything hurts. I look down to see a cast on my right arm, a cast around my leg, a wrap around torso, and a boot around my ankle.

"You did it." Matt says.

"I couldn't have done it without you." I say.

He blushes and kisses my forehead. At that moment the doctor comes in.

"Why hello there? My names Dr. Armstrong. You see to be doing better."

"Yes now that I've woken up."

"That's good. Now let's tell you the bad news first. One broken arm. A sprained ankle. Concussion. Fractured leg and bruised ribs."

"Yikes." I comment.

"Now the good news. These injuries will heal in a matter of time and when they do you will be able to continue to race."

I smile and nod as the doctor leaves.

"Now what are you going to do with all that money." Matt asks.

"Vacation?" I ask and Matt agrees laughing.
