"What the-"
"I've missed you Dev!" she cuts in as she squeezes my arm while Jaime looks at her open-mouthed. I'm going to be bombarded with questions now, judging by the look of his laser sharp glare.
Of course all the guys throw me envious glances obviously because she's a looker, extremely pretty even in that simple linen shirt and jeans. I don't think she wears makeup either, not that she needs any.
"Why am I examining at her so closely?" I vehemently shake my head to snap out of it as Alexa sets her bag next to mine.
Suddenly the class door flings open, startling all of us and Kiara stands with her cheeks flushed from running with her hair in a mess. She looks stunning as always though, infact the tiny beads of sweat rolling down her face seems to makes her glow even more.
"Sorry I'm late!" she huffs, panting out of breath and our teacher being the nice man that he is lets her in with a warning.
She glances at Alexa with a puzzled expression before taking a seat a few rows behind us.
"Okay, I hope you all are done with your assignments. I want it submitted now so that I can grade them all. Pass them to the front now."
Oh shit my paper! I am officially screwed. I won't be able to get an A this time. I guess I'll not be on the honor roll this month. Yes, as geeky as it may seem I like having my name on the honor roll.
"Hey." I feel a pencil tap on my shoulder and turn to look at Maryanne who lazily hands me a file, "Yours?" she asks while chewing a gum noisily.
"Yes!" I nearly cry in relief as I beam at it with happiness. "Where did you find it? Thank you!!" she nearly jumps when I reach out to gratefully clasp her hands and points towards the back.
"Don't thank me, Kiara told me to pass it to you. She found it lying on the floor or something."
My head whips around to look at her. She seems to be deep in thought as she stares blankly at the ceiling.
I decide to thank her after class and so when the bell rings I jump out my seat and follow her hoping to find her alone.
I don't want to bump into Simone.
I shiver at the fresh memory of the petite little cheerleader with a voice louder than the school's microphone ordering her Gorilla boyfriend Chad to beat me up.
Did I mention that Chad's arm is the size of my waist?
No?
Well it is.
As I walk into the corridors I spot Kiara grabbing a few books from the lockers. I take a deep breath and mutter under my breath. "Be cool."
"If I were you, I'd ditch those shoes," a voice in ear makes me trip in shock.
"What the hell?" I glare at Luck who chuckles looking at my body lying sprawled on the floor. My sneakers are just fine, they are a bit old I'll admit that, but they are very cool. Comfy, well they are very comfy.
"That was not cool," he snickers while the whole corridor looks at me with weird expressions as they watch me argue with the little man who is invisible to everyone else.
"Why am I the only person that can see you?"
"Must be your bad luck," he mutters fluffing his white wings indignantly as he floats past me with his nose held high.
"Are you okay?" I look up to see those familiar blue eyes stare at me with concern and I struggle to get off the ground as I notice her figure slowly disappearing from my line of vision. Ah, I wanted to thank her.
