Sebastian stood by Barry's side in the cortex. Cisco and Caitlin were awkwardly working on finding Charles. Sebastian fidgeted slightly, the last time he had been there was as a cat, and everything seemed so much smaller. Barry had a smile of content. His brother was by his side and not causing trouble for once, "okay, the most recent sighting of him is in Starling City," Cisco told them as he turned to the brothers.
"Thats where Oliver is," Barry hummed, there was a high chance that the Arrow had caught Charles already, and if he had, Barry wanted to visit him. Sebastian had no idea who Oliver was, and he wasn't sure he wanted to know.
"Do you want me to get in touch with him before you go?" Caitlin asked. She knew that the Arrow liked to be prepared, but that wasn't really Barry's style.
"No, it's okay, I will probably see him when he is out on the job," he smiled, he hadn't seen Olly in quite a while, he was beyond due a visit.
"Okay, if you guys or Wally need help while I am gone, don't hesitate to call me, I can be there in a few minutes," Barry reminded them softly.
The car was silent, the air was filled with awkward tension. Sebastian was behind the wheel of his car, the engine purred softly as he sped up on the motor way. The vast night sky stretched up high above them. The pair knew that they were going to be in Starling city for at the very least a day, so they wanted to bring transport in case they got separated. The twins hadn't been alone in such a confined space, for over an hour, in a long time. Neither of them knew what to say. They had booked their hotel and they had a staring point in their search for Charles, but they had very little else to talk about, "so, when you moving back to Ohio?" Barry tried to break the silence.
A slight smirk appeared on Sebastian's previously focused face, "want to get rid of me so soon?" He asked, glancing over at Barry before returning his attention to the road. Barry's awful attempt at breaking the ice made him want to laugh.
"What? No, that's not what I- of course I don't want you to leave," Barry tried to recover from his mistake, without realising he had just made another.
"Barry," Sebastian caught the attention of his brother, who turned to look at him with regret in his eyes, "I was joking," he laughed.
"Oh, of course, I knew that," Barry chuffed, just making Sebastian laugh more. His brother was such a dork. The silence slowly began to creep back into the air around them, suffocating their happiness, "I feel like I barley know you," Barry blurted out randomly.
"Is that so?" Sebastian's face relaxed as he slowly turned the steering wheel and an elbow on the window sill. He always had one hand on the wheel, like most drivers. He seemed relaxed, and to Barry's surprise, he hadn't crashed yet, he could drive fairly well.
"Yes," Barry studied his brother closely, making him uncomfortable, "tell me something about yourself that I don't already know," he demanded politely.
A smirk crossed Sebastian's features, "I feel like you know me better than I do," he snorted, but Barry rolled his eyes and urged his brother to tell him something cool, "well, I am not sure if you know this, but I spent a year of high school in France," he smiled fondly at the memory.
"Wait what? Are you good at French then?" Barry asked the obvious question. Sebastian raised an eyebrow and spoke to his brother, fluently in French, his accent was perfect, his pronunciation was perfect and his timing was perfect. Barry felt awe in his chest as he stared at his brother. He had no idea what he had just said, "that's awesome,"
"What about you?" Sebastian asked, once more gazing at his brother fondly.
"I don't know, I am an open book," Barry admitted with a smile of content.
"Surely there is something?" Sebastian urged him on. He knew that his brother wasn't telling him something, and he wanted to know what. He wanted to indirectly ask first, but if that didn't work then he would just have to bite the bullet.
"Well... I suppose... I secretly hoarded scarfs as a teenager, but I didn't want to wear them outside ever," Barry admitted.
"Are we sure I am the gay one?" Sebastian held back laughter as Barry's face began to heat up with embarrassment. His brother was so confident it was overwhelming.
"Okay, I get it, I am dorky," Barry raised his hands up in surrender.
"Of course you are, the older brother is always the hotter one and the younger brother is the nerd," Sebastian tutted and watched as Barry rolled his eyes and smiled deviously.
"Well you see, the whole thing about us being twin kinda means we are the same age," Barry smiled softly with traces of lingering smugness.
"Actually, it is a well known fact that women can't give birth to two children in the exact same moment, so as a result, I am twelve minutes older," Sebastian rubbed his victory in Barry's shocked face.
Barry began to think, he had never really thought about who was born first, he hadn't ever asked either, but Sebastian somehow remembered, "really?" He asked with surprise, "how do you remember that?" He furrowed his brows and stared at his brother's stoic face.
"I asked mum when we were younger," he replied, his features softening slightly. He often considered it his responsibility to look after Barry since he was older, that why older siblings were there for, right? Protection and safety.
"And you still remember?" Barry was impressed, he didn't think he could have remembered something like that from so long ago.
"Well, I remembered it so that one day I could rub it in your face," a smile graced his features, "a bit like I am now," he glanced over at Barry with happiness written on his face.
