i want it to snow
i want to see dusk reflecting off the whiteness
i want to be warm in my cottage—
embraced by the warm touch of silk
and smile
at the snow.

i want the world to be cloaked with quiet
as the birds take a final rest
as the people go home
and kiss their wives.

i want it to snow
because it is the season when lights are strung;
the season when soft lighting combines
with soft laughter.
it is the season when the world so is gentle
that war is put on hold
just so the soldiers can watch the snow,
and pray they make it back
so they can kiss their wives.

i want it to snow
or hail.
i would accept the falling of leaves.
i just want something to change
for the better.

please, world;
desperate snow is better than rain.
