Robin stepped off the ship first and quickly gave the team different points on the island. "M'gann, can you set up the link?" Aqualad asked.
"Are we all here?" she asked. They replied with a 'yes'. "Remember, if anything feels off speak up. Not all of us are mind readers," Aqualad announced. "Specifically you Dick. Promise us," Kid Flash added.
"Promise, let's make this simple," Robin replied. They nodded then ran off to their areas.

Robin to the big house, Kid Flash to the coastline, Artemis to the tallest tree, M'gann to the skies, Superboy to a cave and Aqualad in the waters.

After an hour, most were satisfied that everything was alright. Robin was part of that group until he heard movement upstairs. He creeped up the stairs and peeked into each room. Then he saw his worst enemy. Slade. He was messing with some chemicals that he couldn't see. "Dick, we're going to go. Everything alright on your end?" Kid Flash asked.

Robin panicked for a minute. Tell Kid Flash he was 5 feet away from one of the hardest enemies known to Batman or stay silent to try and fight him and make sure the team stay away, ensuring their safety. He chose the second. "Fine, I'm just setting up a camera system in here just in case. I'll be down in a few minutes," he lied. He let the team go back to conversation then stepped out further.

"You know, sneaking around is cowardly," Slade stated. Robin tensed as the villian turned on his heel. "Hello Robin, still being a hero?" he asked. "Of course. Still being a thorn in Batman's side?" Robin retorted cooly. "Now now, respect is everything. I'm just doing my job as are you."
"Then you know my job is to ask what your doing," Robin said. Slade chuckled darkly, setting Robin on edge. "Recon. Now you should turn around and leave if you know what's good for you," Slade answered. Robin raised his fists. "Oh well, I warned you." Slade muttered.

Kid Flash tapped his foot angrily. "Where's Robin? He should've been done by now," he whined.
"Ask him dumbass," Artemis snapped.
"No don't! You'll seem like you don't trust him when he's away from you," M'gann countered. "M'gann he's on a island, he won't think you're scared about him running off with some guy," Artemis deadpanned.
"I'm asking him," Kid Flash decided.

"Hey Dickie, where are you?" Kid Flash's voice rang through Robin's head as he barley dodged Slade's blade. "Still...in the building." Robin replied, trying not to let on he was fighting someone. "You seem odd. What's wrong?" Artemis asked.
"N-" he was interrupted by Slade's blade finally cutting into him. It was deep, too deep for his liking. "Dick?"
He quickly tried to recover. "S-sorry, cro-crossed wires," he once again lied.

Slade took advantage of him being distracted and drove a knife into his arm, pinning him to the wall by pushing it straight through. He screamed. "Dick! We heard you scream, what's going on?" Robin grunted in pain, blood pouring from his stomach. Slade grabbed his other arm and drove another knife through it. "Are you having a mental conversation whilst fighting me? Tut tut, you know better than to do that. Full concentration is needed during a fight," Slade scolded. Robin grimaced and spit in his face. Slade smiled and moved towards the window.

"I messed up. I-I took on too much." Robin informed the team. "Dick, what do you mean? What's going on?" Kid Flash asked. They heard a helicopter. "Let's see how a robin looks when they're burned alive," Slade stated, throwing a match to the floor. Parts lit up instantly whilst others slowly burned. "I'll see you soon Robin," Slade stated before climbing a rope let down by the helicopter. "Slade is going on. I was just trying to protect you. Now there's a fire a-and," Robin's breath hitched as the room filled up with smoke. He coughed violently, finally ripping his arms from the blades. He fell to the floor in a bloodied heap.

"Don't worry, I'm going to come get you. You'll be ok!" Kid Flash was trying to convince himself more than Robin at this point. He ran out of the ship and into the building, its top floor now on fire. He ran up the stairs and coughed as smoke filled his lungs. "Robin!" he shouted into the fire. An arm raised, catching his attention. He ran towards it then gasped. Robin was barely breathing as blood pooled beneath him. "Holy shit," the ginger whispered, picking the limp boy up. "You're going to be okay, it'll be fine," he said. He dashed out the building and into the ship.

He immediately got his boyfriend to a bed then began on getting his wounds stitched up and put an oxygen mask over his face. "Dick, you have to stay with me, alright?" Wally asked, tapping his face. Dick nodded slowly as the rest of the team walked in to help.

"Status?" Artemis asked.
"He's lost a lot of blood. I'm keeping him on oxygen because of the fire," Kid Flash answered, still rushing. "It's fine. Stop worrying," Robin mumbled. "Save your energy. Once your better, we're going to talk about this properly," he replied. Robin nodded and concentrated on staying awake.
