Chapter 4- Call it what you will

I awoke to the rich smell of poached eggs and the sound of bacon sizzling, filling the air. The sun streamed through the thin curtains, I knew it was early. For those who’ve known me their entire lives, would know that I’m not an early riser, and so, I reluctantly dragged myself out of my warm bed, my bare legs now exposed to the chilly air. I'm well aware that today is my tennis match against Luke, which would explain why I've woken up so early, if it weren't for Luke, I'd be sleeping sound in my bed right now. Sadly, I must prepare myself for a long day ahead. Ugh. “Why must the sun rise so early?” I complained. I walked over to my wardrobe door, ready to create an outfit.

Yes, playing a game of Tennis isn’t exactly a fashion show, (well, in Venus Williams case it is) but I’ve tried outfit after outfit, I wanted to look nice for Luke, but I didn’t want him knowing that. I opted for the cute ‘athletic’ look, more so, Maria Sharapova; a pro tennis player. Cute enough. I wore a skin tight sweat resistant shirt (sexy, I know) paired with black, sweat resistant booty shorts. I was satisfied with my outfit as it worked wonders for my body; slightly enlarging my breasts and my bottom seemingly plumpier. Yes, it may sound provocative, or in other words slutty. But hey, when it comes to situations like these, I need to keep up appearances.

As per usual, I brushed my long hair which fell just above my waist, and secured it into a tight ponytail. Short strands of hair hung freely on both sides of my face.

“Done!” I shouted victoriously. I made my way out of my bedroom and followed the rich smell, leading me into the kitchen.

“Good morning mother dearest!” I said in an attempt to sound chirpy.

Looking up from her skinny mocha, a tired mother replied, “ah, good morning Bella. Sleep well?”

“...I guess you could say that, wish it was longer though.” I took a seat beside my mum and started to indulge in poached eggs and bacon.

“Hmm, maybe you should sleep earlier. You’re still a growing girl you know?”

I continued to eat my breakfast, completely disregarding my mother’s comment.

“By the way, remind me, who are you going to the Tennis courts with?”

This caught my attention, “oh... Just some boy from school, Luke. He invited me to play a game of Tennis with him,” I answered coolly.

“Ah, I see...and you like this boy?” she asked bluntly.

Acting out of sheer impulse, I banged my utensils on the bench top and glared daggers at my mum.

“Mum! Why with every boy I hang out with, you automatically assume that I like them, or that they're my boyfriend?” I defended.

“Calm down. The thing is, you don’t normally hang out with boys, so I thought it was safe to assume that you’d like this particular one. If you don’t like him, then that’s fine,” she replied.

Mum’s comment put me off of my food, cutting my breakfast short.

“Mummy, I better be on my way now, Luke’s probably waiting for me, see you soon.” I said, heading out the kitchen and out the front door.

“Goodbye hun, have fun!” Mum called out to me.

“GAME ON!” I yelled, as I exited the front door with my racquet in hand.

I made a few turns here and there, walking along the gravel filled pathway, leading me to the local tennis club. I finally reached my destination and stood arms length in front of the courts. This was it, this game would decide whether or not I wanted anything more to do with Luke. I breathed in anxiously and exhaled smoke due to the foggy weather, it wasn’t unusual, after all, it was still very early in the morning, it should clear up soon.
