Kanan sighed. He had a feeling this was what was going to happen. He turned around and sensed Ezra staring at him, deep sadness etched in his face.

He walked over to Hera and Ezra.

"The best thing for her in rest right now." He said. Ezra frowned.

"What happened to her Kanan?" He asked flatly. Kanan inwardly winced. He had been trying to avoid that question. He took a breath, then placed his hand on the teens shoulder.

He asked, "Do you want to know?" He felt Ezra stiffen, then nod his head. So, Kanan came right out.

"She's blind, Ezra."

"She's blind, Ezra." Hera inhaled quickly. Ezra froze. Sabine, blind? No way. It was impossible. Yet...

He turned and looked at the bed where the artist was peacefully sleeping. She looked so fine, except for the odd bald line right behind her ear. It was a thin, ragged line, and Ezra had no idea what it was from. Then he remembered what he smelled what he picked her up. All the pieces came together.

"She was struck by lightning, huh Zeb." Zeb nodded sadly. Hera sniffed and sat on the edge of the bed, rubbing Sabines hands. Kanan walked over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. She looked up at him, and he looked down at her. Then she leaned her head in his side and silently let go of her tears.

Ezra walked over to the head of her bed and kneeled down. He gently felt the bald line behind her ear. A hair or two fell off and into his hand. He dropped them on the floor. Using his peripheral vision, he saw that no one was paying attention to him. So he leaned in to Sabines ear and whispered "Please wake up. We need you Sabs, I, I need you. And I promise I will do anything in my power to help you." He kissed her ear, then stood.

The medic droid came back in and told them that they were disturbing her and to leave her to her rest, so they left. Ezra gave one last sad look at her before the door closed. A tear leaked unnoticed through his eyes as he realized his world was changed again.

3 Days later and Sabine hadn't budged. Everyone was on edge. Ezra paced in his shared cabin while Zeb rested in bed.

Back and forth the boy went, lost in his own world, trying to think of something that would wake up his best friend. He was so lost in his world that he started muttering to himself.

"...force with orphine...no.... Bendu.....wolves...." Zeb groaned. He was never going to get any sleep with this walking mess. He sat up and rubbed his head, staring at the kid. He has two options. One, throw the kid out so he could rest in peace, or two, leave so the kid could do whatever he was doing in peace. He unconsciously scratched his beard. Then, with a groan, deciding to be the bigger beast, he sat up and walked out, closing the door behind him. Ezra never even noticed he left.

Zeb walked out to the briefing room and was going to lay down on the couch but Kanan and Hera were in a deep conversation there so he swiftly turned and walked away. He debated on trying Kanan's room, but he didn't want to test the mans patience right now. He continued walking around the Ghost and knew that he could go out onto Coruscant's surface, but the Ghost was like his home, and things were always different when you leave home.

So he decided to go check on Sabine. It had been, oh my word, almost twenty whole minutes since he last checked on her.

"I bet she's just jumpin up n down," he muttered to himself. But he walked down to the med room nonetheless, opening the door. He walked over to her bed and his heart beat slowed as his hope of seeing her eyes again diminished. They were still closed, and she was in the same position as she was when he first helped place her there.

He made sure there was no one around, then let a tear through. All he wanted was for her to wake up. People never really thought he liked anyone on the crew, but when you see people everyday for years, you tend to become attached to them, whether you like it or not. It's just a fact.

As he was watching her, he though he saw her twitch. He practically screamed and jumped up. He stared intently at her for what had to have been at least two whole minutes. But she didn't move again, and Zeb was forced to believe that it was simply his want of her to move that made him believe she did.

He heaved a great sigh and sat back down in the chair by the bed.

And then he knew he saw her twitch.

This time he was certain her nose twitched. Instead of staring intently at her, this time he heaved his mass up and ran to his room. He swished open the door and grabbed Ezra who was still pacing.

"Wha-" Ezra started saying, only to be cut off by Zeb.

"It's Sabine kid!" Ezra didn't need to hear anything else. From the look on Zebs face, he could tell it wasn't a joke.

"Well what are you waiting for; let's go!" The two of them raced down the hall to the med bay and threw open the door. Ezra rushed to the Mandalorions side immediately. Out of breath he stared at her, hoping it was true. After a moment though he frowned when she didn't move. He scooted closer, and then, to his great surprise and delight, her eyebrows moved!

"Ah!" He inhaled with delight, ecstatic that she wasn't dead. Her eyelid moved next, and then her lips, just a fraction of an inch, but enough to inform Ezra she was waking up. Crying in joy, he sat at her bed and grabbed her hand.

Immediately her eyes opened and she gasped. Ezra was so startled he leaped off the bed. Zeb yelled like he had seen a ghost. Ten to top it all off Kanan comes charging through the door.

"Ezra I've been looking for you, let's go, we're needed-"

"Kanan she's awake!" Ezra interrupted. Kanan's eyebrows went up but he didn't move.

"That's great Ezra, really, it is, but we need to go NOW." Kanan waved his hand, indicating that they really did need to go.

"Kanan I can't just leave her!" Ezra pleaded, not believing how unfair his master was being. Kanan frowned.

"Now, Ezra Bridger." Ezra looked from his grumpy master to Sabine, who was blinking and frowning. He was 100% undecided.

Then Zeb shoves him out the door.

"Go kid," he said. "I've got her." Ezra looked the Lasat dead in the eye, and he saw exactly what he was looking for. He nodded, and Zeb nodded back. Then Ezra took off with Kanan, passing Hera on the way, who was headed towards the med bay.

Hera burst threw the doors and hurried passed Zeb who was standing in the corner, beyond happy that Sabine was awake, but having no idea what to do. Sabine was moving her hands around the bed, a frightened and confused expression on her face, leaving her looking very young and innocent.

Hera sat at the edge of her bed and grabbed the girls arms. Sabine looked at Hera, and Hera saw that she didn't have black pupils. They were more like a pastel rainbow, the color always changing. It was the oddest yet most perfect thing that could have resulted from this, Hera thought.

"Hera?" Sabine interrupted her thoughts. "Hera what's going on? I can't see anything. Are the lights off? Is-" "Shhh," Hera calmed the girl down. "It's ok. Your in the med bay. The Jedi's are gone, but Zeb and I are still here."

Sabine stared at her. "Why can't I see anything?" She asked. Hera winced. She knew there was no sugar coating this. She inhaled, then decided to ask Sabine.

"Do you really want to know? Do you want to know why you're in the med bay?" Sabine looked scared, but she nodded her head.

'Well, here goes nothing' Hera thought. "Three days ago you were struck by lightning. Ezra carried you into the ship and put you in the med bay. You've been here ever since. You're going to recover and be perfectly fine, except for one thing. You're," Hera almost couldn't say it. She squeezed her hands, then said,

"Your blind, Sabine."
