KAREN'S POV

Today is my last day in California. Hi my name is Karen I'm 17 years old and my parents got divorced last year. They got a divorce during Christmas break it was practically it was the worse Christmas of my life, they weren't talking and I practically spent Christmas in my room watching Netflix and YouTube videos.

" Karen don't forget anything and we have to leave soon make." Yelled my dad from downstairs

" Okay dad I won't and I'm almost done I'll be down soon." I said while packing my stuff.

About 15 minutes passed and my flight to North Carolina was boarding at 5:30 p.m. it was 3:15 but we have to be at the airport there 2 hours before so we are leaving soon.

" Dad can you help me bring down my other suitcase?" I asked my dad while entering the living room.

" Sure honey, it's in your room right?" asked my dad while standing up from the couch

" Yeah." I said while walking around my house

" Okay just wait for me in the car I'll be there soon." Yelled my dad from upstairs.

" Okay." I said while walking over to the garage.

My dad came pretty fast i guess but I didn't really notice I was just on my phone for the whole time.

My dad put my suitcases in the back of the car. We left the house after that. I'm not gonna lie I was going to miss this house. there was a lot of memories with my friends and I'm going to miss California so much.

" Karen turn off the radio I want to talk to you." Said my dad while Driving away.

"Okay." I said nervously while staring at my dad

" Okay I want you to know if anything happens in North Carolina with your mom you can tell me, and I want you to call me once in a while okay and if you want to come back here durning the year just let me know okay, your welcome anytime, and your coming over here for the summer time me and your mom already talked about that so don't you worry." said my dad while arriving at the airport.

" Okay dad." I said while opening my door to exit the car.

when I got out of the car I started walking to the entrance and my dad was behind me with my suitcases. When we got to the airport we asked a lady what boarding exit is to North Carolina she told us the door number and to wait there because we will be boarding soon. we started looking for the number 5 and we found it. I checked the time and It was 4:25. me and my dad just sat down and waited to start boarding. about 5 minutes later it said on the loud speaker

" Passengers boarding to North Carolina please start checking in, passengers boarding to North Carolina start checking in!"

" Well, okay I guess this is goodbye for now. and I mean it for now Karen. call me when you get to your moms." said my dad while hugging me so tight.

" Okay dad I will call you. I love you." I said while hugging him back

" Love you too Karen" said my dad while backing up. he left when I started lining up.

It took about 15 minutes to show the flight attend my passport stuff, but after that I started walking into the plane with my backpack on my back and I didn't have to worry about my suitcases because they took it somewhere. so I got into the plane and looked for my seat I was seat 5b luckily when I got there no one was there so I got window seat. I sat down plugged in my headphones and texted my mom that I was about to leave and she responded can't wait to see you honey! Right after that I feel asleep listening to my music.
