CHAPTER SEVEN : X
I was running at full force and so was he before we collided. "C'mon sour puss, I think you could do better than that." He exclaimed as we both fell backwards.
"I was just going to say the same for you." I smirked, getting back up again and watching his every moment ever so lightly.
He ran toward with the swiftness, jumping in the air — catching me completely off guard, but I still managed to grip his foot and swing him around and drop him on the floor.
But he was able to catch himself and instead did a flip and landed on his feet. "What are you? Part cat?" I huffed looking down, attempting to get some air into my lungs.
"Want to find out?" A blow landed right my face causing me to stumble backwards slightly but I remained on my feet. "All I want is to ask the man some questions, Angel and then he's all yours." Even with the mask on, the evident smirk was there.
Then, a loud blaring was heard, an alarm.
"Shit. You see princess, this could've been over and done if you weren't being so hard on me." He looked all around the room and he started to step back and I began to realize why.
"So, that's how you got in here? Stopping the system?" I sighed, briefly looking over my shoulder to see if he was still there.
"Stopping it? No. I just hacked it. I thought I would be in-and-out within five or ten minutes, but thanks to you the halls are going to start coming down any moment now." I furrowed my brows at his statement before seeing Chang walk out of his cell.
"What the hell is wrong with you?"
"Don't worry, the system will be back up in about twenty minutes." He shrugged his shoulders as he grabbed Chang by his collar.
"That's enough time for these prisoners to escape!" The lights above flickered with my sudden anger. Relax, calm down. I told myself, a few times before I actually did.
"Not really my problem." He replied, Chang on his shoulder as he made his way toward the nearest door. "In this world little bird, it's best to look out for number one — yourself. You'll understand that later." He opened the door, only for me to slam it before he was able to make any more movements. "Let's not keep this back and forth thing going on," He turned to me as I grew livid - rage consuming me.
It seemed that the other inmates were catching on as I noticed one of them actually open their cell with no problem, then another and another opened their cells. Before anyone else could dare, I easily used my magic to slam their doors and make it so they couldn't open them back.
Slowly I eyed the prisoners who were out. They were all bigger than me and probably physically stronger. After hearing many groans, I looked up my shoulder noticing the boys getting up. "Finally," I thought to myself as I went toward them, helping them stand up.
"No, Raven." Jaime looked in my eyes. "Go after Red-X, we'll handle what's happening right here." I swallowed, not even realizing he had already left.
"No, you guys need me. Red-X will be back sooner or later.. but I'm needed here now." I pull my hair back and the three of us look up to the three dominating men who smirked at us - looking at us as if we were simply children.
But we were so much more.

"Fear Toxic was infused with my DNA?" I walk around the kitchen, putting a pot on the stove — boiling some water before adding herbal tea to the mix."That's what it seems like." Still in uniform, Damian sits on the couch with his feet resting on the table. "We were looking for answers as to why before X came."
"X? Is that what we're calling him now?" Taking a cup from the cabinet, quickly rising it before pouring the tea inside.
Ignoring the question, Damian removes his mask and looks at me from the kitchen. "My father is having a banquet for the Holidays. I was wondering if you wanted to—"
"Dinner at Batman's? Sweet! Count me in." An emerging voice shouted as Garfield walked in with Kara following closely behind.
Kara met Damian's gaze and his cheeks grew red with embarrassment. "Hey, maybe it's an invitation only for Raven." She lifted her eyebrows with a small smile on her face.
"It's not like that—" I interjected before Damian could say something. I put the cup to my lips, silencing myself.
"Well, all of you can come but I must approve of your attire. I can't have you embarrassing him." He briefly looked my way before quickly looking elsewhere.
"When is it?" Jaime, phone in hand walks in. He looked up from it and slips it in his pocket.
Narrowing his eyes, "About two weeks." Damian replies. "Pack your bags and I suggest you dress very warmly." Kara and Garfield rush to go do as they were told.
"Jaime and Raven." Finishing the tea, I place the cup into the sink and walk more into the living room. "Red X is up to something and I might know who he's working with. I'm not sure why or how but I just don't think he's doing this on his freewill. Grayson was telling me about how he used to be and those traits just don't match up to the ones he's been portraying.. he's still playful, I guess. But he seems like he had a hidden agenda and we must figure out what that is." He gets up from his comfortable spot on the couch before saying, "Inform the others of all that's happen earlier and of anything else we know. I'll be on my own for tonight."
Jaime simply nods and makes his way out. I didn't move, deciding to stay where I was. "Be safe out there." I tell him, he nods and doesn't look back before he exited the room.
