so recently some wp editors began editing aesthetics an moorboards. and recently, i discovered i have an extreme pet peeve on aesthetics and moodboards being confused witb each other.
now, in no way am i targeting certain users/making myself seem professional, but as someone who has been a part of the instagram aesthetic community, this is just an issue. ( avenqelic knows me )
a moodboard is usually a set of pictures ( mostly nine pictures ) that either share the same colour scheme or theme. most moodboards have a certain colour, and they're mostly just aesthetically pleasing to look at.
aesthetics are the big issue. i'm tired of seeing moodboards characterized as aesthetics.
below are some screenshots of aesthetics.

cr to me aka my old aes accaesthetics portray a representation of a ship, character, show, book, movie, etc. they are not when you find some pictures and put them together because they "look nice". yes, there's the term aesthetically pleasing, but when you just see beautiful pictures and put them together, that's a moodboard. aesthetics involve planning, text, filters: not just "this looks nice."
moodboard i put together in three minutes
aesthetics resemble something. not necessarily an emotion, which are what MOODboards do. by the fact that all i did was download nine pictures, plop them on a grid and make a border is a moodboard.
ps: if you need any more clarification, a tutorial book is going up soon on thegraphicsociety
