The trees rustled in the wind and the embers in the fire in front of me ascended up to the sky.

"She knows it will be fine
cause she whispers in my ear
tells me that its alright.
And I know its in your heart
to love
to care
and to fight.
And its hard to believe"

I sang lightly to myself as I prepared the squirrel I'll earlier hunted down.

"When the pain was growing,
you carried on.
Cause momma I know
its still a lonley road
for you"

I bit down onto the squirrel and tried not to gag when the slimy texture slowly slided down my throat.

I knew that I already should have gotten used to this but the truth is that you never really can get used to live in the woods- all by yourself too.

You can say that my life is total shit, because to be honest I think so too but you just need to stay strong and keep on going I guess.

And now you may wonder how old I am? Well if you don't then i'm just going to say it anyway and just get on with the story.

I'm seventeen years old and yes I don't have a family if you haven't already guessed that one out.

Many things caused me to end up here in the woods and loose everything I've build up over the years.

I lost everything at the age of eight- my family, my home, my friends (basically everything you can have at the age of eight really)

But I cannot just let that put me down, I need to keep going till I can have a safe home which I don't really have so high hopes over though.

And that's one thing I've learned over the years, that you can't build your hopes up.

I sighed and tossed the leftovers into the hot fire, I really miss my mother's food.

I slowly stood up and quickly wiped away a lone tear that danced down over my flushed cheek.

My green, too used bag layed at my feet and I turned the zipper down to take out my red, well not so red anymore, blanket and stroke it out over the dirty filled ground.

"When the dark arrived,
your light stayed on.
When the pain was growing,
you carried on.
Cause momma I know
its still a lonley road
for you"
