Six to: Save? or Slay? (Finished)

Walter and Roxanne

Once again another short chapter -_-' I apologize I had math homework to do and I need to study and all that...I will try to type better chapters once summer vacation starts I PROMISE!

When Alex had safely lowered everyone to the ground, Walter had to call back his troops. The red soldiers were all confused as to what was happening. But when they saw the white tower explode, they all suddenly ran in a panic.

"Where are we going to?!" Lia loudly asked Alex when Walter and his troops started to run from the battle field.

Alex turned to Roxanne. "Roxanne, is it okay if we go to the Oresoren Village for now? We'll leave Walter with his troops."

Roxanne nodded. "I don't think that they'll mind. QUPPO! PIPPO! POPPO!" She screamed.

Right on cue, the three little otters came out of nowhere and approached Roxanne. Roxanne quickly asked them if the six of them could stay at their village, and they agreed. So Quppo called the rest of the Oresoren and they ran to the village.

Roxanne ended up falling asleep on the floor in Quppo's house. No one dared to wake her up, since they knew she would probably try to kill them.

"So..." Alex began. "We know that Asher is the one who is trying to open the door...But, we need to figure out what we should do."

"Are you serious?" Arian demanded. She released her hand from Xaden's and approached Alex. "You don't know what to do?! I'll tell you. We are going to kill him!"

Alex shook his head. "It's not that easy." He told her. "He has an whole army under his control. He could easily wipe us out."

"Not unless you have me with you."

Everyone turned and saw that Walter had walked into the house. He was alone. As he walked inside, he said, "My troops are currently in a safe place. I will not tell you where because Asher may be listening."

"Wait..." Lia said with a wave of her hand. "How did you find us?"

Walter shrugged. "I already knew where the village was. But anyway, I'm second command for my army. Since they now know that Asher is evil, they said that they aren't going to follow him anymore. Therefore, I am now in charge." He walked over to Roxanne and sat down beside her. "And shouldn't she be in a bed or something?"

Erik shook his head violently. "No way dude! We ain't touching her."

Walter rolled his eyes and gently lifted Roxanne's head onto his lap. "There...That should be okay for now. Anyway, the Purple Army is now under my command. So you won't have to worry about them."

Alex smiled. "Thanks Walter. Okay, we'll take a few days to rest. And after that, then we'll figure out what we should do. Is everyone okay with that?"

Xaden crossed his arms. "But what if he finds us first?"

Alex looked at him with serious eyes. "Then we'll attempt to at least scare him away. But I am serious, we need a break. Even Roxanne is tired, and that's saying something. We'll part ways for a few days, then we'll meet back here. Okay?"

They all nodded in agreement. And that was when Arian, Xaden, Lia, Erik, and Alex left the village...But Walter stayed. Quppo went over to him and confronted him about it, but all Walter said was, "She needs to rest."

Quppo was a bit confused, but he let it slide and left him alone. He gathered his brothers and took them upstairs.

Walter waited until they were gone before he began to stroke her hair. "You really out-did yourself this time Roxanne." He whispered to her. "Asher was right when he said that you'd be a worthy soldier. I would like you to join but...I would believe that you would decline, since you would more than likely want to be with your friends."

He continued to stroke her hair...Until she moved. He instantly stopped and acted like he did absolutely nothing.

She sat up and rubbed her eyes, then yawned. She turned around and looked at Walter with a smirk on her lips. "You want me to join, huh?"

Walter gasped. "Y-You heard me?!"

Roxanne chuckled. "Growing up, I was taught to sleep...Without sleeping. I AM sleeping, but I'm aware of the things going on around me." She nudged him with her elbow. "You're the only one brave enough to move me while I'm sleeping. Some friends I have."

Walter was blushing. He turned away before replying to her. "Well I could see why they would be. You're tough, quick, skilled..."

"Are you flirting?"

"Uh, No! No O-of course not! Why would you ask such a silly question?" Walter smiled nervously.

Roxanne eyed him suspiciously. "What are you so nervous about, hm?"

Walter scratched the back of his head. "Oh nothing."

"Fine. Then you can leave."

"W-What!?"

"There's no reason for you to be here at the moment."

"But I want to ask you something!"

Roxanne crossed her arms. "And that is...?"

"Weelll..." Walter cleared his throat. "Look, I've had a crush on you for a while now okay? I just wanted to know if you'd go out with me?"

Roxanne blinked with confusion. "Go out where?"

Walter sighed. "You know...As in date?"

Roxanne cocked her head to the side. "Really? Are you sure?"

"Positive."

"You'll have to teach me a bit...I was home schooled so I don't know what dating is like..." She paused. "At all. And I'm also warning you that I am not the lovey-dovey type okay?"

Walter nodded and smiled. "That's fine." He suddenly took her hand, but Roxanne snatched it back. "Whats the matter?"

"What are you doing?" Roxanne patted her hand.

Walter chuckled softly. "Couples hold hands."

"Oh..."

He tried again and took her hand and squeezed it tight. Roxanne had no idea what she was doing, but she had a warm, tingly feeling inside of her that she couldn't just ignore. She felt.....Happy.
