Hey there, I'm Genevieve Davis, but you can call me Gene for short. I'm sixteen, and I have navy blue hair and dark pink eyes. I'm an honors-student at Curtis King High School in Frelia. I get straight A's in all my classes and somewhat popular around boys. I have two amazing friends who always help me no matter what: Vincent Knight and Emily Goldstein. I have this passion for astronomy and spy agencies. I really want to become a spy when I'm older, and an astronomer. But my parents, Felix and Miranda, want me to follow in their footsteps and become a lawyer like them.
BORING!
Vincent and Emily always tell me to follow my heart, and I always do. To be honest, my friends are more supportive than my parents. Literally every summer, my parents are always going on a business trip, and my bratty little sister, Hannah and I, our grandmother comes to look after us, or we go on vacation with Vincent's or Emily's family. Our parents never have time for me and Hannah. Right now I'm at my favorite café with Vincent and Emily. It's called Café La Rose.
"So, what are you going to do this summer once we graduate, Gene?" Emily asked.
"Probably have my grandma come over and watch us, or maybe somewhere with you guys," I explained.
"Yeah, about that. You can't come with us this summer I'm afraid," Vincent said.
"Why not?"
"My grandparents just got a new house and they would really love it if we came over to see it. Sorry."
"It's okay, I get it. Family first. Just tell them that I congratulated them, okay?"
"Yeah, from me, too."
"Will do."
I smiled and turned to Emily.
"So, can I come with your family Em?" I asked.
"Maybe, I don't know. My parents are out for the whole summer in Cadron and I'll be staying with my older brothers, Glenn and Sigurd. I have to see what my brothers and parents say," Emily said.
"I'm taking that as a no."
"Well, you know those two bozos have a massive crush on you, and if I bring you to them, that is something I'll deeply regret."
"Yeah, but I have a Knight here to protect me."
I hugged Vincent and looked up at him.
"Don't worry, my princess, I'll protect you." Vincent said, trying to sound heroic.
We continued to have our fun time together until it was time to go. Vincent and Emily walked home, whereas I walked to Hannah's school to pick her up. When I got there, she was waiting for me outside. She saw me and gave me a gruesome look. I rolled my eyes and continued to walk home, with Hannah following me.
"Took you long enough to get here," said the twelve-year-old redhead.
"Hey, cut me some slack. I lost track of time," I scolded.
"That's your excuse for everything! One of these days, I'll be walking home on my own, without you."
"Ha, good luck getting lost."
I always joke around with her. I can just tell that even though she's still giving me the cold shoulder, she's trying her best not to laugh. Also, tonight was very special, because the astronomy club from school was coming over to work on a special presentation. Their really good friends of mine: Calem, Harriet, Brendan, Delia, and Damien. Harriet is the tech genius in the group, and she made an invention to scan the stars and constellations, and deposit those scans onto a hologram. It's just like a computer, copy and paste. It's called the Star Scanner. When we got home, it was quiet.
