Two Months Later

"Today, is a day to remember, for us at Curtis King High School, and for our graduating students." Principal Priscilla said happily.

It was graduation day, and I had on my blue cap and gown. When they called us up for our diplomas, I began to cry a little. Some of my friends here, I might never see them again, but I was hopeful that we would cross paths.

"Now, I would like to introduce you to some amazing stars at our school. Please put your hands together for the All-Star Astronomers!" she cried.

We got up and I gave the opening speech.

"Thank you, Ms. Priscilla, and thank you all for coming. My name is Genevieve Davis, and I'm the president of the All-Star Astronomers, and we have a special gift for all our friends, to show that we're all All-Stars in our own special way." I announced.

Damien put the hologram on the podium, and the lights in the auditorium went out. I pressed the button and the hologram glowed. Then, the hologram of all our hard work filled the auditorium. It was absolutely astonishing. Then, I saw shooting stars pass by on the hologram.

Harriet must of added that.

Then, the hologram stopped and everyone applauded. Ms. Priscilla came back to the podium.

"Now that was truly astonishing. This is the hard work I expected to see from all my students, and they showed us what we can achieve, together. And one final thing before we see off our graduates." Ms. Priscilla said.

Two teachers came up and handed us a small rectangular package. I opened mine and inside were brochures to remote areas and beautiful islands.

"These are gifts from us to you. Every brochure has tickets to take you anywhere you please for your summer vacation. Askr, Macedon, Ostia, you name it. You can go wherever you want with your family. I speak for everyone here when I say, CONGRATULATIONS!" Ms. Priscilla said.

This is the best gift ever!

Everyone applauded. When it was time to go, I hugged all of my friends and teachers. My blue gown was off, and I had on a pink and silver pencil dress with silver heels. Then, someone hugged me from behind. I turned around and I burst into tears. It was my big brother, Nathan. His black hair kissed my cheek. He is very handsome. His ocean eyes can seduce any girl. He's twenty and was in the army for almost four years. He's probably twenty-four now.

I can't believe he's here!

"Nate!" I cried.

"Congrats, Gene," Nate said, wiping away my tears.

"I can't believe you're here! I missed you so much. How long are you home for?"

"I retired, so I can spend every second with you and Hanny."

That's the nickname he gives Hannah. She calls him Natey.

Then, Hannah ran over and hugged Nate tightly.

"Natey! I missed you so much, big brother!" she cried.

"I missed you, too, Hanny." Nate replied.

Having Nathan home is the best graduation present I could ever get.

"So, where's mom and dad?" he asked.

"They couldn't make it. They had a meeting to go to. So grandma came. And, mom and dad are going to be out for the whole summer," I said sadly.

"I despise them. Well, I'm staying home with you, Hannah, and grandma all summer, and forever."

"YAY!"

I hugged him tightly and kissed his cheek. He blushed a little. We got in his car, and drove home. When we got home, the house was quiet once more. There was another note on the side table as well.

Dearest Genevieve,
We are so sorry we could not be at your graduation, and you must hate us. Your dad and I were called to the meeting early, and we were supposed to leave tomorrow night. We are so sorry. To make it up to you, look in the box. Congratulations, honey.

With Love,

Mom and Dad

As the note said, there was a small square gold box. I opened it and inside was a necklace with my birthstone: sapphire. I put it on and I cried. I wish mom and dad were here with us. I told Nate everything that has happened to me when he was away. He was glad he was home, and could spend every second with us. When it was time for bed, Nate carried me to my room. He laid me down and placed a kiss on my head.

"Goodnight, Gene." he said.

"Goodnight." I said, half asleep.

My eyes closed and dreamed all of the things Nate and I would do.

"I don't know how long I can keep this up. I retired from the army so I can spend time with family, and because of my other job. My job, as a secret agent. I have to be at my job tomorrow morning, but I have to get Hanny and Gene out of the house, but how?"
