~Six Years Later~
It has been sick years since I met the boys. Four years since Gage, and I mated and two years since I had my daughter, Adalena. She looks just like her father. Her eyes are brown just like Gage’s. She has my long black hair, tan skin, and cheekbones. I remember when I found out. I was so scared that Gage was going to leave me. He was so happy when he found out that it was girl.
Adalena is two, but she acts more mature for her age. Gage adores her and so do I. The pack spoils her. I made myself famous. I am the most powerful lynx in existence. I am known as Cattail Killer. Ironic, but so true.
“Alexa! Where are you?” Gage yelled. I sighed. Mind linking him wouldn’t wake Lena. I’m in Lena’s room. He replied instantly, ok. I heard pounding on the stairs and knew instantly it was Gage.
“Hey can we go downstairs? Pack meeting. Lena will be okay for now,” he said. “Sure by the look on your face, I’m not going to like this,” I said. He grinned sheepishly. I groaned and started walking out. Gage grabbed me and pulled me back to him. I knew what he was thinking before he said anything. I led him out of Lena’s room.
~30 minutes Later~
I had just finished redoing my hair. I was wearing my tight boot-cut jeans, a blue crop top, my black heels, and a brown leather jacket. My make up was mascara, eyeliner, and nude lip-gloss. My hair was straight and in a high ponytail. My hair is still the same as it was six years ago.
“Mommy” Lena screamed. I turned to see her jump. I caught her in my arms. Lena’s hair was in a ponytail but curly, she was wearing jeans, a dressy, green top, and white dress shoes. She reminded me so much of her father.
“Hi baby girl,” I said. “Daddy and Uncle Chance chased me down the hall. They told me to come get wou. The new pack is here,” she said. Some words she can’t say well. I froze. That must be what the meeting was about. “Mommy are wou okay?” she cried. “Yes, Lena. Mommy didn’t know about the pack,” I said.
I let her down and we headed downstairs. A wave of familiar scents hit me. “No,” I whispered. Lena looked at me. I shook my head at her. She led me downstairs. Gage comes into view. “Daddy!” Lena yelled and ran towards him. Gage’s deep, throaty laugh echoes around the room. “This is my daughter, Adalena. My mate should be here soon,” he said. Nobody spoke. I reached the room and faced my old pack. They all gasped.
