~Midnight~

I woke up feeling sick. I wretched Gage’s hand out of the way and ran to the bathroom. Gage come barreling in after me. He holds my hair with one hand and rubs my back with the other. When I was done Gage carries me back. I spring back up with a gasp. “Alexa?” Gage asked. “Um…Gage I am three weeks late,” I whispered. He tensed. “Gage?” I whimpered.

“Alexa can we handle another one? I love you, but can we?” he asked. “I don’t know,” I whispered. I knew what Gage meant. He didn’t want another child. He lies down beside me and pulled me to him. I let my tears fall silently down my cheeks.

~Next Day~

Gage is still asleep when I wake up. I get up silently and grab a sweatshirt and jeans. I slip on a pair of flip flops and go to check on Lena. She is curled up with her teddy bear. I smile slightly. I turn and go find the pack doctor. I found him in his office. He replaced the old one. “Luna,” he said bowing. “Hello. I need you to perform an ultrasound but don’t tell anyone,” I said. I used my Alpha tone on the last part.

“Yes, Luna,” he said. We went into the examining room. I lied down and waited for him. He came back and lifted up my sweatshirt. He put the gel on my stomach. I turned my head towards the monitor. “Luna, I can tell you the sex,” he said. “Okay,” I said. “You are having twin boys,” he said. “Thank you,” I said. He wiped the gel off and I sat up. “Tell no one not even the Alpha. Even if he commands you,” I ordered. He nodded and I left.

I go back to my room to find Gage pacing. “What’s wrong?” I asked. He whipped around. Relief shown in his eyes. “Where were you?” he asked. “Walking around I needed to think,” I responded. “Oh. Lena is still asleep. Do you want to talk about what’s bothering you?” he asked. “Yeah. Sit down, please,” I said. He sat down on the bed. “This is between us,” I said. “Okay,” he replied. “I went to the pack doctor. I’m pregnant with twin boys. Do you want them or no?” I asked. He stared at me stunned.

“Alexa we talked about this,” he said. “What have we talked about? Just say what you really want to say Gage. Don’t beat around the bush. We both know that you don’t want anymore. You are so ready to say no that you don’t even consider what I want. It’s like your word is final. There is not just you in this, Gage. It’s both of us,” I said. “Alexa we can’t handle two boys,” he said. “You’re doing it again. I want them Gage. But that doesn’t seem to matter to you does it?” I said. “Yes it matters. It will always matter,” he said. “Why don’t I believe that? Gage for now just sleep in one of the guest rooms. Right now I need to be alone,” I said. “Alexa…,” he said. “No! Gage just go,” I said. He sighed and started packing.

Lena came in two minutes later. “Daddy what are you doing?” she asked. “Daddy needs space so I’m staying in the room near yours,” he said. “Mommy?” she said. “Yes, sweetie,” I said. “Is Daddy mad at you?” she asked. Gage sighed and left. “I don’t know, Lena. “I just don’t know,” I said. She nodded and left to go play.
