"So, anyone want to explain to me what's happening?" The older woman asked. I knew now that her name was Maria, and she was in fact their mother.

We all sat around a long dining room table, everyone looking rather uncomfortable.

Jake and Wyatt turned back human, now sitting far away from each other with passive aggressive faces.

"He," Wyatt pointed an accusing finger at his brother, his brown eyes full of hatred. "Bit Red and then attacked me when I tried to reason with him. He threw a vase at me, mom!"

Jake rolled his eyes, letting out an unbelieving laugh. "You're just a pussy, always have been."

Wyatt stood up in his chair, looking ready to go for round two with his brother.

"Oh sit down, drama queen. Your brother's right, you are a pussy," Maria spat, making her son obey immediately. He seemed almost afraid of her. "And you, Jake, should learn to pick on someone your own size for once. I also thought we agreed that you'd tell me who you were turning before you did it?" She crossed her arms sternly, her brown eyes burning into him.

Jake just let out a grunt, mumbling under his breath.

"Alright, next issue. Red, we'll deal with you later, but you girls need something, correct?" Maria leaned forward in her seat, looking down the table at Scarlet.

"Yeah, all we came for was a bit of fur." She replied. Even Scarlet seemed intimidated by the woman in a way, her voice seemed meek and quiet.

"Easily done. I have some in the cellar, you can go get as much as you need. Sorry you got dragged into all this." She eyed her sons and they flinched a little.

Scarlet nodded a thanks and left the room for a few moments, returning with two full mason jars of fur.

"We'll be on our way now, good luck, Maria." Scarlet said, giving a glance at the three boys and then turned to exit out the front door, the three of us getting up and walking after her, eager to escape the dark house.

After what seemed like hours of walking, we finally got back to the fort. The sun was setting now and the sky was red, it was beautiful, something I never saw much in New York.

Scarlet walked inside the small building, letting out a frustrated yet exhausted sigh. Everyone was playing cards around the table, eating junk food and drinking soda.

They all looked up with guilty eyes when we entered the room.

"Uh, hey guys. We got everything set up." Kat said, tossing her cards down on the table. She bit her lip, shrugging.

"Was it that bad, Scarlet? You guys took hours." Nikita added, adjusting her glasses.

Scarlet glared, setting the jars of fur in the middle of the table. "I fucking hate werewolves." She muttered, turning away and walking over to the shelves, going through all the ingredients.

"Alright then." Kat sighed, shaking her head as she stood out of her chair. "I'll light the candles."

I sat down at the table with Nikita and Thea, taking a potato chip and eating it awkwardly. It only just dawned on me that I still barely knew these people. It felt like I'd known them all my life, or maybe it had just been a long day.

"Okay. I've got everything we need here." Scarlet set a few more mason jars down on the table. One had what looked like locks of human hair and the other had a bunch of dead spiders in it. "Have you ever done something like this, Easter?" Scarlet asked.
