"go get her Chris" I heard somebody shouted and girls shouting too. I looked back and to my surprise...
I look around to see if there are other girls, I don't want to assume things, but unfortunately there are none. I look back and see Chris jogging towards our direction.
"good evening sir" he greeted my father beside me, I'm startled. My father look at me with a confuse expression. "Can I ask your daughter for a dance?", once again my father look at me but with a smile plastered in his face.
He look at Chris and said "Yes, but... I should be her first dance, you cant take that away, right?" Chris smile and nod. My father lend a hand and I take it. he lead me in the dance floor where there are couple of students still dancing and I can also spot some of my classmates with their crushes.
I can see most of the students are looking at us, my father starts swaying and I just followed his steps
"Who is that boy?" my father asked me. "it seems to me that he really likes you"
"That boy?" I ask him while looking at Chris who is waiting in the same position where he asked my father."He is Chris, I don't know if he really likes me, I guess he is just making fun of me".
"i'm sure he us nit making fun if you" my father said "Why would he ask your father if he is not serious" my father stated with a teasing smirk.
"C'mon dad, stop it" I told him while smiling.
"Ok, I'm done here, I am your first dance" he said with a sigh"Your suitor is patiently waiting" he called Chris from behind, I look at him and he immediately ran towards us, my father gave my hand to him, he bowed down, took my other hand and placed it in his shoulders.
The music change to 'can i have this dance'. his hands on my waist and his eyes on mine. I have to admit, I like him, yeah I like him, I have a feelings for him but I kept in mind that he will never, I mean ever land an eye on me, I was nothing compared to the girls around him. Sure I was just a wallflower in his eyes, even in his peripheral vision. It's little awkward though, but then he break the silence
"I thought you were just another girl, but when I know you more, I never thought you were somebody, A somebody that will catch my eyes..." I was shock, jaw-drop, he chuckle and continue "I already like you, that's why I kept on fooling around when you're close enough to hear or notice me... I know it's lame but I'm really doing those things just to get your attention, I don't know... maybe I'm desperate "
"I guess you really got my attention..." I pause, looking at his happy-confuse look "I'll admit it, I like you, but sometimes I get annoyed when you're playing pranks and fooling around."
He smile, he lean closer, I was startled when I heard somebody calling and shouting my name, it kept repeating around the place, I look around and everyone is looking at me, some of them are vanishing, I look back to Chris, I can see the worry in his eyes, and slowly smokes appear all around us...
I open my eyes, my mother is standing in front of my bed, I look around and realize it was all just a dream...
