Greetings human being! And if your not a human being, hello to you too!

And welcome to Earth!

I'm Will, Will Solace. People say I'm the nicest guy on the planet.

I kindly inform them that person in probably somewhere in Canada.

I live with my mom, who is the sweetest woman ever, even though Dad left her when I was only four months old.

We're not exactly rich, but we get along just fine, which is something I wish everyone in the world could say.

Anyway, I walked into school, having no idea what was coming. I heard the snickers of Sunshine Boy start.

Y'know, it's sad that people get teased because they're too nice. I don't let it brother me, because I see nothing wrong with being happy.

As I walked to my locker, I noticed a young boy dressed in all black down the Dragon Hall, alone.

Oh yeah, I call it the dragon hall because a few years ago, some kids were allowed to paint a dragon on the wall on the left hall.

Don't ask why or how, I don't know.

'Aw, a lonely emo' I thought to myself, staring at the little guy and decided to talk to him.

As I walked over to him, he must've heard my footsteps because he turned and looked at me, and raised an eyebrow like he was unimpressed.

I smiled, brightly. "Hey, I'm Will. Will Solace." I introduced.

I noticed he suddenly stiffened for a minute before relaxing.

"And your name is?" I asked.

He sighed, as if he was annoyed I asked.

"Well?"

"Nico." He muttered.

My grin got wider. "Nico huh?" I asked, "tell me, does your last name start with an A?"

"Does your start with an S?" He asked, grinning. "You bet!" I cheered.
"Yay soulmates!" Nico grinned and hugged me.

Just kidding, that last bit didn't happen.

I patiently waited for him to answer, but all he did was stare at me, bored. "Well?"

"It's none of your f*cking business." The boy snapped.

I gasped and covered his ears. Nico was clearly confused. "What the fu-" he started to say before I covered his mouth too.

"Don't swear yet child. You are still an innocent, little boy." I advised him, "even if you're in the emo stage"

He ripped my hand off his mouth. "I'm not a little boy! And I'm not in any emo-stage!"

"Aw did I embarrass you Neeks?" I teased. Nico stiffened. "Get the f*ck away from me Will."

"But why?"

"Because I'll kill you if you don't."

"No you won't."

"Don't doubt me."

"Too bad. Pretty sure even a tough little guy like you couldn't live with the guilt." I smirk.

"Don't make decisions for me Will."

"But why?"

"Because you don't have the authority."

"But we're soulmates!" I cried, dramatically.

Being dramatic is a speciality of mine. Mom says I get it from my dad.

I watch as he takes in all the stares we're getting. I'm good with crowds, but obviously the little emo wasn't.

And it was odd, having a crowd at the end of the hall instead of coming in.

"No, we're not. Get your head out of the clouds Solace and get a life." He growled and stormed off, with the bystanders clearing a path for him.

I watched as Nico stormed off. 'Well that kinda hurt.' I thought.

'But he really is a sad, lonely emo.'

The bell rings and I panic, realizing I haven't even been to my locker yet.

I raced to my locker and some kid yelled, "Run Solace, Run!"

"What do you think I'm doing?" I called back and scrambled into the third hall. I whipped open the locker as fast as I could and grabbed my math textbook.

I slammed my locker shut and ran back into the first hall a split second after the bell rang.

I darted into the math room, out of breath.

"You're late Solace." My teacher, Mrs. Calavera snapped.

"I noticed," I mutter and the guy next to me snickers.

I sit down at my desk and stared to think about my emo soulmate.

Was he really my soulmate?

Obviously. I mean, I meet a guy named Nico di Angelo and obviously he's the guy.

Come on, when people refuse their soulmates, it just makes things way more complicated than necessary.

I'm not going to be stupid and refuse that Nico's my soulmate.

Soulmates accept each other no matter what.

Even if they are over-excited balls of sunshine, or a miserable, adorable little emo.

So instead of pondering wether or not Nico was the one, I started thinking of ways I could win him over.

Let's see, what can you get for the anti-social emo who clearly doesn't like you very much?
