Chapter Four: I Really Don't WANT to Be a Part of Your Group of B-yotches
Just because life isn't easy, that doesn't mean you quit, I kept telling myself this over and over again as I walked through the school parking lot and into the main office. Leaning against a locker nearby was a guy, whose dark hair fell over his eyes making it impossible to see them. All the same, you could still view his physique, which I had to admit was impressive. Inside there was a girl with her back to me talking to the receptionist.
"I want my schedule changed now!" she demanded. Okay, I'm just going to pretend I don't exist at the moment until this girl leaves,I decided with slight amusement.Just how far does she think she's going to get with that attitude?
"Uh okay, Miss Mecatti," the startled receptionist typed furiously at her keyboard. "Isobel, right?"
"Who else?" she answered rudely. I automatically disliked this girl.
"Here's your new schedule, Miss Mecatti." Isobel snatched it from her and flounced past me. She paused and turned to look back at me,
"You're new here aren't you?" she asked sweetly, turning to face me. I raised an eyebrow slightly,
"Yeah," I didn't offer my name.
"Well I'm Isobel. Isobel Mecatti, I'll show you around. Lady, get her schedule!" she glared at the receptionist. Poor lady, I thought sorrowfully.
"Sorry," I muttered to the receptionist. My schedule was printed in record time and I was whisked out the door not a second later.
"I know who to introduce you to and I know everyone who's anyone." She pointed at a group of jocks laughing dumbly with each other. "That's the guys, Matt, Mike, John, Luke, and Carter." She then pointed at the guy I'd seen earlier, "That's Eli Delattre and his two best friends Landon and Reese. Stay away from them because Eli is mine." She said that so casually you could have missed it. I made eye contact with Eli and almost blushed. Keep a hold on yourself Piper. Even if he is gorgeous. "The nerds are over there, the artsy people are there..." I zoned out on her not bothering to listen anymore. "And that's my group, where you'll be our newest member!" Uh, when, exactly, did I agree tothat? I didn't. And that's exactly when I made my point of view known. "We'll let you know who is okay to talk to and who's socially unacceptable."
"Well," I unlatched her from my arm. "I reallydon'twant to be a part of your group of b-yotches, Isobel. I think I can make my own friends just fine thanks. I don't need to have people scared that I'll ruin their lives if they don't part like the red sea in the hallways. I also don't fel the need to spread rumors behind people's backs." A gasp echoed through the outdoor commons. Well, I'm going to take as wild guess and say no one's said anything remotely like that to Isobel before. And it wasn't that even bad. But I guess it just isn't done. Wasn't, excuse me.
"Game on bitch," she snarled turning an impressive shade of angry red.
"Is that the best you can come up with?" I taunted her slightly, "Just a fun fact, red's so not your color," I gave her a smirk and Isobel whirled and stalked off to her table. I realized that I was all alone in the middle of the commons. And I just made a really bad enemy. One of the girls at Isobel's corner said something to Isobel which just made Isobel redder. The girl got up and came over to me.
"I'm Rosalind, but seriously it's such a mouthful that everyone just calls me Rose," she said. "Let's get out of here before Isobel blows a gasket." She led me over to the other side of the commons away from the fuming Isobel. "This is Sophia, my only friend outside of Isobel's group. Besides the fact that I am no longer part of that group and now I'm friends with you too." Sophia smiled at me,
