"Man! I'm so charged up, I don't think I'll be able to sleep!"

"Not me." Keith put his arms up on the back of the couch, "When my head hits the pillow, I'm gonna be lights out." you flopped onto the couch and rested your head on your friend's knees.

"Same." you yawned.

"(Y/N), you did literally nothing." even as he said this, Keith rested his left arm on your stomach. Hunk sat in between Keith and the other paladin.

"I've realized that in Voltron, we're brothers, man." he pulled the boys in and hugged them tightly. Your position in your friend's lap was slightly disturbed, but not by much.

"Hey," you twisted your head so that you were facing the boy on Hunk's other side. "what's your name? I never caught it." as you asked this, Hunk let go of them.

"The name's Lance." he flashed you a smile.

"No," you said, earning a confused expression from him. "you're a doofus."

"Very mature, (Y/N)." Keith deadpanned. You looked up at him to see his signature resting bitchface.

You poked his nose.

"Boop." he lifted your head off of his lap and stood up. He laid your head back down on the couch and left the room.

"Goodnight."

"He's always like this around other people, don't worry," you stated you stood up as well.

"Angry and awkward?" Lance asked.

You laughed, "Yeah."

"He must've been insufferable," Pidge stated, adjusting his glasses.

"Honestly? Just don't get on his bad side and he's the nicest person you'll know. I actually learned how to keep him from blowing up at everyone all the time."

"That's a really good skill, I would guess." Lance pointed at your bandana, "Hey, why'd you get so pissed when we tried to take that away?"

"Oh," you gave an embarrassed chuckle, "sorry about that, guys. I'm a little screwed up myself, I guess. It's kinda something I tried to hold onto, it's like a little piece of home I had. Something to keep me going." you yawned again, "I'm gonna go pass out in my room 'Night." you walked out, tipping an imaginary hat.

As you walked down the hallway to you and Keith's room, you heard footsteps behind you. You turned around to see Lance.

"You going to bed too?"

"Yeah, don't worry, I'm not a stalker." he shoved his hands into the pockets of his green bomber jacket. "It belongs to him, doesn't it? The bandana, it's Keith's."

You nodded. "He used it to bandage up my leg when we first met. It's a really long story," you smirked. "I sorta stole it from him. He let me keep it, though. That's what really got me through being a prisoner. The thought that I someday I would make it home was enough."

"So your first reaction when someone tries to take away that sense of security is to kick them in the shins?" he raised an eyebrow and smirked.

"What can I say, I'm a very violent child," you stated as you reached and opened the door to you and Keith's room. "G'night."

"See you in the morning." he gave you a little wink goodbye as you shut the door.

As you climbed into your bed, Keith's voice sounded from the top bunk.

"You aren't a kid, you know."

"Hmm?"

"Your birthday was about 2 months ago."

"Oh." you groaned. "Oh no. I'm not ready to be 18."

"Welcome to adulthood, it sucks."

You put your pillow over your head.

"Just kill me. Please," you grumbled as you heard a creak from above. You uncovered your face to see him hanging upside-down off of his bunk.

"I'd rather not." he got back up into his bed, "Goodnight, dork."

"Night, idiot." you closed your eyes and fell asleep in a matter of seconds.
