Chapter 7

Stephan's icy laugh echoed in Akira's ears. "As if you can hurt me. " Stephan charged toward them at the same time Rhys released the fire balls.  

Stephan fell on his knees. He and Rhys were enclosed in black fog, as the fire balls collided with the wall and disappeared, leaving behind two small cracks.

"What the hell?" Stephan shouted.

"Care to explain what is going on?" Gabriel asked. The black smoke came out of his hands. There was a gush of wind as crimson eyes appereared in between of Stephan and Rhys. "I'd like to know that too." Glen said.

"Tsk. Why are you here?" Stephan asked angrily.

"Stephan feeded from her." Rhys let his hands fall at his sides and clenched them. I'll make sure he pays for it.

"He what?" Gabriel shouted. The fog surrounding him disappeared. Rhys's tails and ears disappeared as he shifted back. "Are you okay, Aki?" Gabriel ran to her side.

"No strength." her voice was barely more than a whisper as her eyes closed.

Just how much did he take from her?

Stephan let out a loud moan of pain. "Gabriel." he said hoarsely.

Rhys was pretty sure Gabriel heard him and ignored him. Stephan deserved to suffer. All who hurt her deserved to suffer.

"Gabriel." Glen said sternly. Gabriel glared recentfully at Stephan as darkness surrounding him faded.

Glen jerked Stephan up. "I'll take him to Aaron. You come too, Rhys." He glanced at Akira. " She probably can't move so take her to her room, Gabriel. She should be fine after sleeping for a while." Glen shoved Stephan in front. "One wrong move and I'll hurt you." he hissed to Stephan.

His reaction was reasonable. Stephan had violated one of laws.

Rhys moved his sore body and followed after Glen. How did Stephan become so strong all of a sudden? He glanced back at Gabriel and the girl. Her eyes were closed as Gabriel lifted her. She fainted?

I guess it's better that way. She would freak out if she was awake.

"You are really an idiot." Rhys said as he sipped his coffee. Stephan glared at him but lowered his head.

"It's been two days." Vincent stated. "Is she still not responding?" His face was solemn.

"That's to be expected." Aaron let his cup on the coffee table. "This was one horrible week for her. But you should at least apologise." He looked at Stephan who averted his eyes.

"I'm not letting him close to her." Gabriel said so loudly Glen covered his ears and let his book next to him.

"Wow, it's rare for you to get angry." Vincent said, his eyes sparkling.

"If it was someone else I wouldn't care. But she is one of us." Gabriel glared at Stephan. "We don't hurt our classmates, our friends. And for such a stupid reason nonetheless." The lights flickered. "Wanting attention from him. Do you fancy Rhys or something?"

"I prefer girls." Stephan said with amusement. He still had the bruise from his punch when Rhys found the chance. A smirk crept to his lips.

 He deserved it.

"Did you guys finish with the library? You had made quite the mess of it." Aaron sipped his tea. Rhys stood up. "Where are you going?"

"Back to my room." he said and walked away.
