The students had grins on their faces, everyone except Akira. There's too many people. She glanced at Gabriel, who smiled at her. Just great. Akira leaned toward Gabriel, even though she knew they would still be heard by those with supernatural hearing. "Why are we together with class A?" she whispered.
Gabriel laughed. Some students turned to look at them, including Rhys and Kelly who were glaring at them. Mrs Mcleon cleaned her throat and they all turned towards her. "Because there are only six of us."
"Where are we going?"
"Beats me. I think we are going in the forest just outside Oraion city. They said something about enjoying nature once in a while."
"Okay kids, go get your partners and we'll begin. We will follow the path until we arrive at the small village near the top of the mountains. The teachers will be waiting for you there. Now, we just need to make sure you are all here. Those, whose names are called can begin."
Mrs Mcleon began saying names and slowly two by two all the students began walking. While passing next to her, Kelly smirked at Akira. "I don't like her." she murmered.
"Akira Rene and Gabriel from Special class. And we're done. Have a nice walk kids." Mrs Mcleon looked at Akira and Gabriel smilling.
Akira took a step forward. She turned. "Gabriel, we have been called." Gabriel looked at her for and titled his head. Then as if he figured out she was talking to him, he approached her.
"Are you okay?" Akira asked. "You are acting a little weird."
"I'm fine." Gabriel smiled. As Akira watched him walking away from her she had this nagging feeling that something was wrong.
~
"The air is different here. Cleaner." Gabriel's eyes were blank and darker. He was staring at the trees and walked towards them. "Gabriel where are you going?" He stepped out of the path. "If we leave the path we will not be able to find the way back. He didn't listen.
"Gabriel come back." A raindrop landed at Akira's face. Her eyes poped open as she clenched her hands. Something touched me. "Gabriel." Her body was tense and she felt as if someone was sitting on her shoulders. "Gabriel answer me." More teardrops fell from the sky. "Gabriel come back." she shouted.
No response.
"Gabriel."
Akira was back in that room, tied on that chair.
" Gabriel."
I do not want to be alone.
She could barely see him as the trees covered him. "Dang it." Akira run after him. It was raining. Akira pushed braches of her face, the slashed her face and hands. But the pain was not felt. Her heart was thundering at her ears. Her vision was a little blurry and she wanted to puke.
Akira's eyes filled with relief when she saw him. Her breath was caught in her throat. Gabriel was standing at the edge of the cliff. "Gabriel." she said with caution, her eyes focused on him.
My hands, I need to wash them.
She made a step closer to him. Gabriel moved forward. His foot would not touch the ground.
"No!" Akira shouted as she ran toward him.
Horror was in Gabriel's eyes as he realised he was going to fall.
He smirked.
Akira tried to reach him and catch him, but she couldn't. Because Gabriel wasn't standing in front of her, nor was he falling.
Gabriel had disappeared.
A strong current of wind made a few strands fly at both sides of her face.
Akira turned around just as someone pushed her off the cliff. She screamed as she was grabbing the ground for dear life.
Her hands ached, but they were keeping her alive. She moved her legs trying to find some place to provide her with stability.
Someone laughed. Akira looked up. A face coveres with crimson eyes staring scornfully at her.
The figure wore the girls' uniform of normal classes. "You deserve it you, bitch."
The girl glared at Akira's hands.
No, no, no. Do not do it.
The girl smirked and stepped on Akira's hand with the heel of her boot. Akira screamed.
The girl jumped back, her eyes filled with killing intent. "Just die already!" she said as she kicked the ground and Akira's hands.
Hold on.
But Akira couldn't do that anymore. She was looking at the girl laughing, her fangs shining in the little light.
Her hands slipped. Strong wind blew and the person who tried to kill her ran away.
Akira closed her eyes as she felt weightless. The wind was caressing her skin.
It sounded like a lullaby.
Like it was saying goodbye.
I wanted to lead a better life. Not having my mystophobia blocking me from from doing the things I wanted. Not hating everything so much. I wanted to live, not just exist. And now I am dying. Alone.
Tears escaped Akira's eyes and mixed with the raindrops on her cheeks.
I haven't lived yet.
"I do not want to die" she whispered, a tear falling at her cheek.
"AKIRA!" A hand grabbed her wrist.
She slammed at the wall of rock of the cliff. Pain shot through her hand to her body and her shoulder felt like it would break.
But the wind wasn't as fierce anymore and she wasn't falling.
"Akira."
Glen's lips were streched in a tight line, his face paler than normally. His wet hair framed his leaning down face and half hid squinted blood red eyes.
"I'm going to pull you up, okay?" Glen pulled Akira up. He slammed on the ground making Akira go in circles in the air. "Fuck! I slipped."
Akira's wrist was slidding from Glen's hand and the rain made it even worse. Glen grabbed her hand tighter, so tight it hurt.
"Damn it!" Glen looked at her and smiled sadly. "We are stuck here. But the others will be here any minute now. "
Glen was stealing glances around him. Akira's body was losing its strength, fast. She struggled to keep her eyes open. "Akira stay awake."
"I..can..not." She said, her voice hoarse.
"Hey, Akira. What are you going to do after we get out of this situation?"
Was he trying to distract her?
"Not hate the world."a bitter smile made its way to her lips.
"We're here!" Glen yelled. To whom she didn't know. "Akira hold on. They're coming."
"Sorry." Akira murmered as her eyes close and her hand slipped.
