Recap:
"I just figured it was time to get over it. It's been two years, Cal. I can't hold a grudge forever."

"I want you to know I don't believe you in the slightest."

"Didn't expect you to."

The nonstop 'bzz' sound from my phone interrupted my nap and forced me to pat around the bed blindly to try and find it. Once I finally got the device in my grip, I begrudgingly opened my eyes only to see exactly 137 unread messages from the group chat now entitled "Luke And the Rest 🤴🏼." A smile couldn't help but break out across my face at that actions of my foolish friends.

It had been almost a week since the Michael and Mina incident. Though we had hung out in a group since then, Mina seemingly ensured that Michael and I were never alone together for long. I didn't mind so much though. Just watching her smother Michael and drive him crazy would only help me in the long run.

As I scrolled through the messages I had missed during my nap, I saw they had all planned to meet up at Calum's house for a scary movie night and some pumpkin carving. Frankly I would rather stay in my own apartment and sleep for a little while longer but I hadn't been out much lately. Most of my time had went to working and trying to get my life together.

Putting my phone back down on the bed I took a deep breath before sitting up. There wasn't much for me to do before heading out to Calum's. I had already showered before my nap and if we were only sitting in his house, I didn't have to get too dolled up. Opening up my dresser I decided to slip on some black leggings and a maroon cropped hoodie.

I still had to flat iron my leave out though, so I turned my speakers on and listened to Hold Me Down by Daniel Caesar, as I plugged in the irons.

"If you love me baby, let me hear you say it, I know I'm your favorite."

I swayed my hips to the beat and sang while waiting for the iron to heat up.

"First you love me then you leave me in the basement, I know I'm your favorite."

As I continued to sing along to the song I cringed at how much it reminded me of how I felt about Michael. Not in the mood to get in my feelings, I skipped the song and the next one to come up in the shuffle was I Like by G Herbo. Definitely a change of pace. Though I was born in the suburbs of Chicago and definitely a suburbanite through and through, I always have a place for that city in my heart.

"Why yo eyebrows fake? Bitch erase that shit!"

Cracking up at the lyrics, I danced around to the lyrics. In the middle of clapping my flat irons to the tune of the song, the sound of applause made me jump and drop the hot irons on the floor. Turning around, Luke stood in my doorway red in the face from laughing.

Quickly, I bent over to pick them up, and then turned the volume of the music down to a normal level.

"First of all, I'm taking away your keys to my house. You abuse these privileges. Second of all, I could have burnt myself, asshole." I shoved the lanky blonde boy in the shoulder, who then feigned hurt.

"I just wanted to enjoy the show. You're a great dancer by the way." Luke strolled over to the unmade bed and plopped down.

"Hey! You know how I feel about street clothes in my bed." I absolutely dread when people get into my very clean bed with very dirty clothes on. He donned black jeans and a loose navy blue t shirt with his growing blonde hair held back by a backwards baseball cap.
