"For 'eaven's sake Alfendi!"
Lucy sighed. "It's not like you've been fired." she said, repeating the words Florence had said to snap her out of it.Alfendi groaned again but didn't reply.
After seeing that words were getting nowhere, Lucy walked round to face him and put her hands on her hips. "Get up Alfendi."
"I'm not sure I'm comfortable with you calling me that, Lucy."
"You're the one acting so distant all of a sudden!" and she meant it. Expecting a warmer reception than this, though she hadn't a clue where that idea was coming from, this cold, hard.. Prof was a bit of a let-down. "Fine, but get up. Go shower. I'm going to get you some real food."
"Yes Mother. Stop treating me like a baby, Lucy." Once again, a flicker of Potty Prof crossed his face.
Lucy was at the door. "Stop acting like one then, Prof." She slammed it behind her.
Although her plan was to get food, it was not the main reason she had walked out. That apartment was suffocating her; finding the Prof like this was scarier than finding him in a rage. He was so distant, like he barely knew her. Walking fast, she tried desperately to clear her head before confronting Alfendi again. He hadn't mentioned what had happened in the office nearly a week ago, but it was obvious that it hadn't left his mind. Or her's, for that matter.
At the first shop she came to, which happened to be a run-down corner shop bearing a broken sign that read something foreign, Lucy hopped through the door and grabbed a couple of apples, some bread and a block of cheese. Minimalistic, but good enough.
It was then that she saw something so completely baffling that she didn't move a muscle for at least, well, 10 seconds. A flash of red between two petrified looking melons, that was the exact same colour as Potty Prof's hair. Yet she was almost (97.6%) sure that he was still upstairs in his apartment, hopefully clearing the place up a little.
"Eh, Prof?" she called out cautiously, "did you follow me?" Surely being followed silently by an unstable Potty Prof could not be for a pleasant reason.
There was no reply, so she edged around the row of shelves to peer down the aisle. Quick paces behind her made her whip around, but whoever it was had fled.

A shorter one for now, because I wanted to update today! I've finally taken the time to start planning out the main plot of this story, and to be honest I'm excited for it myself.
Shoutout to TheGirlWonder0412 because she actually follows and enjoys this book and has told me that. 😂
