[Madison Fren POV]
There was no way... It's impossible... I didn't... I was just dreaming... this is all a figment of my imagination. Right? Why was I sharing a blanket with my best friend's step-brother, Grayson Foster!?
My eyes roamed over his relaxed, attractive features as he slept. His chest peacefully heaved up and down as he inhaled in and out. His thick eyebrows matched the color of his brown, messy hair. His bare arm and chest peeked out of the blankets. Along his sharp jawline lead a light trail of red kiss marks. The color matched the same one that Violet painted on my lips before the party. Oh my god.
Slowly—trying not to wake the sleeping boy—I sat up with caution. When the blanket fell from my bare chest, I quickly pulled it back up my cheeks burning. The smell of Cologne stained his covers. Feeling the cool sheets against the rest of my body, my eyes shot to the floor where my clothing laid. God, please don't tell me...
I cupped my face into my hands. What did I do last night? I stabbed into my memory, trying to find a solution to my unanswered questions. I already knew that the answer lied around me. The sleeping body next to me. Our clothing sprawled out in a sea around us. My bare body only covered by his navy blue sheets. The minor thumping in my head that caused it to ache.
I inhaled a deep breath, edging my leg towards the edge of the bed. Attempting to quietly escape the messy bed, I froze like a statue. My eyes landed on the fuzzy creature that sat on the ground, peering up.
"..No. Pooki, no." I whisper to my best friend's dog. Holding the blanket against me with one arm, I held my other out towards the medium sized dog. "Be a good boy, Pooki. Don't jump up here."
As if I invited him, he kicked his hind legs to the ground and launched himself onto of the boy next to me. Grayson's brow furrowed as the bed bounced. Stirring around he gave a light groan before his eyelids slowly opened, revealing his radiant emerald eyes. Seriously, Pooki?
"Sleep well?" Grayson brings his arms up behind his neck, resting his head on his hands. The blankets falling from his chest. Everything from his bellybutton up was bare and showing. His green orbs trailed around the blanket I held up to myself, as if trying to undress me with his eyes.
His room was lit only by the bright morning sun that was begging to shine through Grayson's black curtains.
I ignored his question, my heart beeping like an alarm. I wish it had a snooze button. "What did I.... What happened last night? Please just tell me that I passed out." I say nervously, a part of me not wanting to know the answer.
"You did everything but that." His trademarked smirk tugged to his lips. While he showed to be proud and confident, my face was painted with regret. "You could say that we... turned hate into love."
Ever since we were kids, me and Grayson never got along. Every Time I came over to Violet's house we would always argue. Sometimes it would turn physical and we would end up wrestling around. I really disliked him. I never had any respect for a guy that can easily bring a different woman in and out of his room every week. However, how am I one to talk? Look at the position I'm in now...
My body shivered, vaguely remembering the touch of his fingers. I bit the inside of my cheek, denying the desire that burned inside of me.
"Grayson!" A high-pitched and familiar voice sounded out in the hallway. Before I could react, my arm was tugged towards Grayson and my head was shoved into his warm chest. My reaction was slow as I placed my small hands on his soft skin.
"Are you kidding me?" Violet's sarcastic tone set into the room. Even if I couldn't see her, and she couldn't see me— I knew she was standing at the entrance of Grayson's room. "You kept another random chick overnight?" Was she referring to me?
