Standing in the long line for lunch on an empty stomach is probably one of the most annoying things I have ever done. Especially since I was tortured with the smell chicken nuggets. I stood with Lauren and we talked about french. Finally she gave me her card number because she didn't want to stand in the line anymore and told me I could use it whenever because she didn't want to eat right before she went to softball practice. I waved to her goodbye and stood alone.
After ten minutes, I emerged from the lunch room with my food in my hands and walk up behind Kaileigh and Luke and wiggle into my spot beside her. We stood with a group of people I didn't know too well. But I jumped into the conversation the way I do.
I hear Kaileighs name yelled over the commotion and turn to look at its source. A light brown haired guy in a Army shirt runs up to her. I take notice of his looks, although he wasn't as attractive as some, he wasn't too bad. I throw the thoughts from my mind and remember Daniel.
"Kaileigh! Do you have any money? I know you do." he says rather rudely.
"No, I actually don't. I turned my fees in." She says to him and he rolls his eyes and his gaze focuses on me. I feel the heat in my cheeks warm up.
"Can I have your bread?" He says smiling.
"You're crazy if you think she'll give you that bread." Luke smiles.
The boy looks at Luke as a scowl takes over his features. "Shut up, Luke!"
I glare at him, "Now you sure as hell are not getting my bread."
He looks at me with a smirk, "Mhmm whatever." and walks away.
I look over at Kaileigh who's laughing at me. My eyes widen at her and lift my arms up. "Who was that??"
"You like him don't you?" She says with her eyebrows wiggling at me.
I look at her raising my eye brows. I choose to ignore the question. "Kaileigh who is he?"
"My step brother." Taking in my expression of annoyance. "His name is Wesley."
I roll my eyes, "He isn't too nice."
She nods, looking at the ground and then changes the subject, "Hey when are you coming over?"
"I don't know..my mum's going out of town next weekend, so that won't work." I say contemplating when she would let me come over. I have to take care of everything while shes gone.
"This weekend, maybe?" she says hopefully.
" This is my mum we're talking about right now. Do you really think that she will let me go on such a short notice?" I laugh.
She shrugs, "Why not just try to ask?"
"Haha yeah okay I will ask."
Okay so I am really working on this and it's hard to look back on this simple time in life. Thanks for reading so far! (;
