Danielle's POV

"Miss are you okay?", a police officer asks when I reach the front desk of the jail.

I wipe my eyes before replying, "Oh yeah, I'm fine".

I walk faster so I won't be questioned any further. I don't know what to do with myself now.

Do I go home to cry?

Should I leave Oxford to get away from Harry?

I can't think straight, but I sure as hell know I shouldn't let Harry determine my future. I've worked too hard to just run away from what's ahead. I need to take a walk to cool off and figure out where I go from here.

I get into my car and throw my head against the back of the seat. I let out a huge wail before a loud hiccup escapes from my mouth.

Oh great, I can't even cry now.

Harry's caused me so much pain that I can't even feel it.

I'm completely numb.

He's broken me. He's ruined what was left of me. I will never be the same.

"Hell what do I do?", I ask myself before I slam the gas and speed down the road.

I'm leaving Harry.

And I won't look back.

I've now realized the tears spilling from my eyes, which has blurred my vision. I can't make out what's in front of me, but it doesn't stop me from pushing the gas pedal harder.

I feel the intensity of my car, zipping down the street.

Before everything around me stops.

I'm frozen in time. It feels as if everything is in slow motion.

The windshield is shattering, and the glass falls around me. The front end of my car collides with another one and my head is thrashed forward against my steering wheel.

I don't know what's happening to me.

Harry's POV

"Fuck, Luke wake up", I shake his body until his eyes fly open.

"What the hell do you want?"

"I don't know what to do with myself. I've ruined everything, and I know this time she won't forgive me. I've really screwed up, and I can't fix it-"

"Sir, did the girl that just visited you happen to be Danielle Anderson?", a sheriff appears behind the cell, peering in.

"Yeah. Why do you ask?", I snap.

He looks at the floor and shakes his head, "She was just in a terrible accident, and it happened to be on the news. Apparently she was driving at over 100 miles per hour when she crashed into another ongoing vehicle. It's such a terrible tragedy".

"Are you saying she's dead?!", I scream in horror.

I break down on my knees and clamp my hands into fists. I bang them into the ground, "NO. NO. NO. GOD THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING TO ME".

My head collapses to the floor and I wheeze trying to gasp for air.

The man then unlocks the cell, "She is at the hospital about 20 miles away, in critical condition. I know how much she means to you, go see her."

I collect myself off the ground and my feet carry me faster then they ever have before.

I don't look back.

I just keep running.
