<DISCONTINUED> Open Hearts - Genji x Reader

6: Free Day and Forgiveness

I yawn as I wake up. "Damn, yesterday was definitely not a good day..." I stretch and put on a big, fuzzy, long sleeve shirt that's (f/c), leggings, my flying boots, and a black cloth headband. I walk over to my music box and twist my key into it. I open the box and Shadow comes out like before.

"Today, you and me are gonna be together, ok?" I ask as I pet his head.

He barks and licks my cheek, I giggle, "Good! Let's go to the lobby!"

I walk out of my room and down the halls as Shadow follows beside me. Once I reach the lobby, I open the door and see no one there. "Huh, strange...Maybe I woke up earlier than them..?" I shrug and walk over to the hot chocolate maker, "Welp! More for me!"  I make myself some of the warm chocolate drink and face the direction where Shadow started to walk towards me.

"(Y/N), WATCH OUT FOR THAT WOLF!!" I heard someone yell as I saw Lucio, Tracer, Genji, Mercy, and Mccree run into the room, surrounding Shadow.

"WAIT, NO DON'T SHOOT HIM TRACER!!" I yell as I get in front of him.

"THAT THING IS UNTAMED!! I CAN TELL BY THE WAY IT'S ACTING RIGHT NOW!!" I hear Lucio yell from behind me.

I calm down and straighten up, "First, lets stop yelling. Second, Shadow's only acting like that because he's being protective, that's all."

I look at Genji for reassurance. He let's go of his blade and stands up from his ninja striking pose.

"I agree with (Y/n). Let us all calm down and let her talk." Genji says as he turns to the whole group.

"Thank you...now lets' sit on the couch as I explain." I say as everyone sits on the couch. Genji sits next to me, as Mccree sits on my other side. Then Tracer sits next to Lucio who is also sitting next to Mccree and Mercy sits next to Genji.

"So, Shadow is a wolf yes, but he is a spirit. Shadow is our family crest. The Kira Blood. Kira means killer in Japanese even though our family isn't Japanese, once we moved to Tokyo, that's what our family was described by. I never learned Japanese that much, but I guess I'm fine with it." I explained as everyone listened closely.

"But anyways, back to Shadow.." I continued, as he jumped onto me and Genji's lap, laying there. I stroked Shadow's ears and head. "Shadow has been passed down throughout my family's lives as long as my family could remember. He was kept in a box as a spirit but is then released once it's opened."

"So Shadow is like me and my brother's dragons..." Genji mumbled, "Interesting..."

"Yes. Shadow is said to be sent from the god of the forest from most of my family, so that's what I go with. Once he was given to us, he was already tamed and ready to protect and comfort my family since the day he was given to us."

"Oh...I see." Mccree says as he pets Shadow's head as well.

Everyone nods in agreement. "I wonder why though..." Mercy asks as she looks at him curiously.

"We'll never know until something may be revealed in the future." I say.

I get up, making Shadow jump down to my side, "Welp, I need to apologize to 76 right now so...."

Tracer gets up and goes in front of me, looking at me dead in the eye, "Why are you apologizing for what happened last night love?! It wasn't even your fault!"

Mccree gets up and stands next to Tracer, "Yea darlin'. The old man brought this upon himself."

Lucio gets behind me and puts his hand on my shoulder, "If you want, we could go with you and wait outside his office." he asks.
