Prologue
"Fred, you need to stay back! Put the gun down and stay back" she puts her hands up showing Fred that she means not harm.
Bam!
Gunshot. Her body falls onto the ground. Fred flees the room, and all goes silent. Once he's gone I come out of the shadows and into the light. I look towards the body. My eyes roam aroung the room
*Gasp*
My head whips back to the girl on the ground. She's breathing! I think to myself. I run to her side. Her eyes are wide. She's taking deep breathes and her head looks towards the door where the guy she called Fred left. I take her pulse. It's a little fast, but pretty normal.
"Hey are you alright?"
I take out a small flash light and shine it in her eyes. She's responsive.
"Fred," she gasps. "Where is he?"
Then I remember that she was shot. I look over her body. I see blood stains in the lower left corner of her shirt.
"Oh my God!" I say and lift up her shirt.
There's nothing there. My eyes widen in disbelief.
"How? I say astonished.
"Because she's a demon"
I scream. Turning around I see the man that the girl called Fred. The guns not in his hand anymore, but I still take a few steps back. I turn around when I bump into the girl on the ground. I see her starting to get up.
"Wait, no, stay down." I say to the girl.
She stands up with as much agility as a runner. Then she suprises me. She starts laughing. I look at her, and there is a smile on her face.
"Damn, Fred. That always hurts. Maybe a little higher next time, and not where I eat." At that they both laugh.
I turn looking at both of them in turn. I close my eyes and shake my head. At that moment they remember me standing there. They look at each other and smile. Fred and the girl take a step closer to me.
"So who are you?" Fred asks me with a sly smile.
"I- I'm Holly," I stammered. "Holly Goldling." I said looking at Fred cautiously.
"Well, Holly Goldling, I am Fred and this is," he points to the girl. "Lila. I am a demon and she is an angel, but we are really good friends." He says it with such calmness that, for a second, I thought he was telling the truth.
When I look back to Lila she has a mocking grin on her face. I look back to Fred, and he has the same grin on his face.
"Ok. What the Hell? Who are you guys? Is this some kind of joke?" I look at them and they just smile.
"Not a joke darling. My sister and I came from different parts of this...um.....realm, and we just like to have fun."
"Ok. First, Fred, I am not your darling and second there are no such things as real life angels and demons in human form." I look between them.
"Wow, Fred, she's a pretty feisty little human. Pretty too." She twirls a strand of my curly, red hair around her fingers, and takes a once over at my clothes.
"That's why I picked her." Fred's face turns up in a wide grin.
That's it I can't keep cool anymore. I quickly look for the nearest exit. Then when I find it I sprint towards the door. When I get to the door they just laugh as I run towards my house. They don't follow me, but I will never forget what happened.
