| Chapter Twelve | Princess Tiffany

Jess has been helping Adam get around since his leg got injured protecting her. She walks into the infirmary ward, she goes into to the curtained-off area and sees Prince Adam asleep on the bed. She smiles a little, she walks over to him. 'I..I mean he is cute but....Skaldia needed that arrangement between us, they are hanging on by a thread.' Jess thought to herself. She looks at Adam's bandaged thigh. 'If that happened to me, I would make a big deal out of it, not him though.'

"Are you blushing, Princess Jessica?" Someone behind her asks. Jess's eyes widen and she turned around seeing Princess Tiffany Ellis. She had long dark brown hair with light purple tips, brown eyes and a dark purple dress with black flats. She walks around the bed, looking at the sleeping Prince. "I don't blame you of course. The Princes are all good looking—"

"Prince Tyler and Prince Cali—"

"They are my brothers! Don't be gross!" Princess Tiffany whined. Jess sees Adam move. Jess touches Adam's arm.

"We should go, he hasn't been sleeping well—"

"Aww so you care about him...you like him." Princess Tiffany said. Jess looks away from her. 'I do like Adam but not in that way. He has his own problems and...I already had my eyes on someone.' She thought. She looks back at Tiffany.

"I heard about Shivoa...It is bad?" Jess asks. Tiffany loses her smile and nods.

"Ty would never do that. It was set up, I know it. I know my brother and he would not do that sort of thing. He doesn't like meaningless deaths, and now the Council is pulling every mage back to Laendur." Tiffany said. Jess tilts her head. 'That's weird, that's hasn't happened since the Decade War.' Jess thought. Lilly looks at Adam.

"What did you think, Jessica, what do you think of Prince Adam?" Tiffany asks. Jess looks at her.

"Oh...He's—". Ian comes in, the girls look at him.

"If you are gonna spread the lies surrounding my Prince, don't speak at all." Ian snapped. He walks to the foot of Adam's bed. "You two don't know what he's been through, he's nothing like his father. His father and King Zane attacked Shivoa and are using Prince Ty as a scapegoat." Adam's eyes open. Tiffany looks at Ian.

"Calvin is using our Navy right now, Ty isn't. Ty is innocent." Tiffany said. Ian crosses his arms.

"No one knows what happened to the royal family. No one. And Estron soldiers are at Shivoa and took over it." Ian said.  Tiffany shakes her head.

"Th-That's a lie. Ty would never do something so horrible behind Father's back. He had nothing to do with that." Tiffany snapped. Ian looks at the Princess Tiffany.

"I never said I was against your brother, Princess. But seeing how Prince Ty is the captain of your Navy, he is the one to blame." Ian said. Princess Tiffany looks away, her hands ball into fists and then she walks past Ian.

"Ty would never hurt his friends." She said as she walked pass him. Ian looks at Adam, Adam is still asleep. He looks at Jess, Jess has her hand on Adam's arm with this look of concern plastered on her face. Ian smiles a little and looks away. He sits in one of the chairs and leans back in it. Jess looks at him.

"What are you guys gonna do with Skaldia looking for Adam?" Jess asks. Ian sighs, he crosses his arms.

"Well....it is whatever the Prince wants to do. If he wants to help Estron or try to take out his father for good, I'm planning on sticking by his side till the very end. I ain't letting him out of my sight again." Ian said. Jess's thumb starts to rub Adam's hand.

"You didn't know this would happen." She said.

"Actually...I did. I didn't know when." Ian said. She tilts her head a little, confused. He looks at her. "Jason, Red, Ross, and I knew...we knew someone was targeting the Prince in an assassination attempt... When I left for family matters, I trusted Ross with Adam's safety.... I should have known better than to trust him with the Prince. The Prince hasn't been acting like himself since the Queen died, he is more careless and less....happy.."

"Happy.." Jess repeated.

"That's why I was a little glad to hear about the marriage, I thought you could fix him, but now.....That's not gonna happen." Ian said. Jess looks at Adam. She smiles a little.

"I didn't take you Ian as someone who would care so much about someone else." Jess said. Ian looks at Jess.

"I've been guarding the Prince since we were kids. Ross and I have been at least. Them Jason and Red joined us and we became a little group, then Ross does this to to the Prince." Ian said. Jess looks at Adam's bandage, she can see blood staining the clean bandage.

"He's bleeding." Jess said. Ian gets up and looks at Adam's leg. He sighs.

"I'll get the nurse." Ian said. Jess moves in front of him.

"No...I will. Stay here with him." Jess said. Ian takes a step back and looks at Adam.

"Alright." He said. Jess than leaves, Ian sits down in a chair at Adam's bedside. Adam's eyes open, he looks at Ian.

"Ian.." Adam said. Ian looks at him.

"A-Adam...How long were you awake?" Ian asks shocked. Adam gives him a small smile.

"Since Tiffany left." Adam said. Ian looks away from him. Adam sits himself up, his hair tangled from sleeping. Ian chuckles, Adam puts his hand through his hair to untangle it. Jess and a nurse come back. He looks at them.  The nurse moves the Prince's injured leg looking at the bloodied bandage.

"I'll have to change the bandage, don't move." She said. The nurse leaves. Adam looks at Ian, Jess makes Adam lay back down.

"At least stay laying down, Prince." Jess said. Adam looks at her, he has bags under his eyes and looks tired, too tired to argue or anything. He closes his eyes, resting as the nurse comes back.

"Alright, can someone help me?" She asks. Jess moves beside her.

"I will." Jess said.
