It was three days before Blake could go back to the bridge. But when she did, there he was, waiting for her. She had not forgotten Jason's parting kiss, or his words. As she stood beside him, he smiled at her. His smile was dazzling. Her heart was racing. She steeled her nerves and took a step closer to him. He noticed and smiled again. She sighed as they gazed out over the water. Then Jason turned to her. "I wanna ask you a question." He said, his cat ears twitched slightly as he said it. "G-go ahead." Blake replied, slightly nervously. Jason looked her in the eyes. "My father is holding a dance at the castle. It's stats at 9:30 tomorrow night and I wanted to know if you would be my date."
Blake stood there speechless. Could this really be happening? "Of course I'll go with you. I thought you would have asked someone else by now though." Jason put a hand on her shoulder. "Blake," he said, his voice low and calm, "I have eyes only for you." Blake blushed scarlet. He flicked a strand of her hair out of her face and just looked at her. "You are so beautiful. The most beautiful girl I've ever seen. You aren't seeing anyone?" Blake shook her head. "No... do you really think I'm beautiful?" Jason nodded. "You look like pure starlight." She blushed even deeper. "Just wear something nice for tomorrow night. Meet be here around 8:30. Okay?" Blake nodded. Then she hugged his briefly before running off, leaving Jason standing there, watching her go.
