After their first 7 classes, they walked over to the auditorium. Mrs. Carrie—one of the teachers—told them that the dance company was stretching and preparing backstage, because they were going to perform in front of the whole school. The dance company was probably the most advertised sport at Middleton High School. Everyone sat down in the auditorium, which was huge and very modern, with brand new leather chairs and a stage bigger than the entire great hall. "Good morning Middleton High," said the principal Mrs. Denil. "We are very excited to show the new students what our dance company can do!"
Boom! Boom! Boom! Applause.
The lights went out and everybody began to clap. Each of the members came out with a lot of personality. I wish I wasn't so shy, I would love to join something like that, Savanna thought to herself. The dancers all did front aerials, perfectly in sync, not one person failed at their pirouettes, and each of them could do their splits fully. "They are truly amazing!" Rosa told Savanna and Kaitlyn. "I agree, they should go on one of those dance shows." Kaitlyn replied. "Okay everybody, please exit in an orderly fashion at the west doors." Mrs. Denil said.
When they got back to homeroom with Mrs. Adams, they went over their schedule for Tuesday one last time. After they were finished with that, they were dismissed and Savanna started walking to her house. Her house was only 10 minutes away, when she walked. She was thinking about how amazing the dancers on the team were, and how she loved dancing during her free time. Why not audition tomorrow? She thought to herself, No, I'm too shy.
