"Those are gorgeous!" I exclaim, looking over an example of the table centerpieces that will be in Sky's reception. We are in a bridal decor shop, and it's our second to last stop, wedding related.
She grins, nodding. "I thought you'd like them. I love the roses!" She points out the delicate flowers, weaving in and out of a crystal display and a few candles, all rounded out on the table with white, silver trimmed plates, and matching silver utensils.
The woman helping us continues showing us how they put everything together and asking if she wanted any changes, if she was happy with it, things like that. And soon, we are heading out the door.
"What's the last stop, Sky?" I ask as we stride down the sidewalk together, moving down the block.
"The dress store!" She replies, giddy with excitement. "I'm so ready for you to see it!"
"So am I!"
After some walking, we come to a large bridal boutique with dresses of all different lengths, sizes, styles, and shiny things sewn on them, and I swear I've never seen more white in my life.
I hear a small cough and look up from my phone, as I was playing a game, sitting in a chair, waiting for Sky to come out and model her gown for me. I am speechless. I would never wear it, but man, it works for her. It's strapless, and has a somewhat poofed skirt, with small diamonds all over the corset.
"Oh, Sky...." I breathe, taking her in.
She squeals. "Do you like it?"
"I love it! You're beautiful...!" I stand, walking to her, enveloping her in a hug. "So beautiful."
I pull away and see small tears of happiness in her eyes, and she nods, going back to change.

After looking at the dress, Skylar and I pretty much just fiddled around at small shops and stores along the streets and we had coffee. It was fun just being with my best friend like that, since I haven't been able to for so long.
As soon as we got to her flat, Sky dropped her bags and said she had a headache, then dragged herself to the bathroom to take a hot shower.
I, on the other hand, was feeling fantastic. Tom had only texted me a few times today, asking how I was doing, what I was doing, if I had seen this, or tried that in the city. He's such a gentleman.
Skylar and I stayed up late, watching movies and eating dry cereal, and nutella, and when Bring It On started ending, I decided to pipe up and ask something that had been on my mind.
"Sky? I know this is like.... Crazy, but what it Tom and I become.... A "thing"? I'm not going to be in London forever.... Only two weeks. What happens when I go back home?" I'm almost scared to think about it, even though I only went on one date with the man.
She thinks about this. "Well, you really only have three choices. One, you could just leave and forget about him, which I doubt you'll ever do, Two, you go back to the states and have a long distance relationship. Sometimes they work out, and sometimes they don't. That's a 50/50 chance. And three, you could stay here in London with him, if that's what you really wanted, and he wanted it too. I've learned in my relationship with James, that sometimes you have to just choose what your heart wants, not what you think you need or what seems right at the moment. If I had the choice to go back to the states, or stay here, I would stay. Home isn't in the states anymore, and I know this'll sound really cheesy and cliche, but wherever James is, is home for me. Hell, we could be living on the streets right now, and if all I had was him, Id be perfectly fine with it."
I nod, staring up at the ceiling as I process everything. I try to focus on Bring It On 2, but my mind is wandering. I keep on thinking, and thinking, and thinking, until sleep takes me captive.
