"What happened when you were in middle school?" Nathan asked kindly as he closed the door to his room, trapping us inside.

"He was my only friend." I laughed nervously, afraid to be judged. "And Warren and I got bullied."

Nathan looked at me, completely listening to every sound that came out of my mouth. "Do you want to talk about it?" Putting his hand on mine, he asked me that caring question.

"It's not a big deal, it's what every teen goes through. Getting bullied and trying to keep yourself together while balancing your honors classes. A lot of stress." Whoops, I went too specific.

"That sounds more like your own personal experience." He frowned.

"Let's just say college has been a lot easier." I sighed.

He sat up more, looking into my eyes. "What happened to Warren?"

"He got bullied and I tried standing up for him but I just made it worse." My eyes started to get teary.

"You're a good person." He kissed my cheek, making me want to cry. I don't want to loose him. "I wish I could be like you."

When I heard him say that I broke into tears. He put his arm around me, comforting me. I don't want him to say that. I'm not a good person. He needs to be himself. I love him for who he is.

"Babe. I'm sorry. I didn't realize I said something wrong?" He said a bit stiffly.

"You didn't." I sniffled. "I just want you to be you." I hugged him tight, I never want to let him go. His embraces felt amazing, like he could heal with one single hug.

"I'm still sorry you had to go through that." He laid down on the bed, pulling me down with him.

Laying my head on his chest I spoke, "Thank you Nathan."

"I love you." He said quietly, closing his eyes.

"I love you too." I looked at him and he had a tear running down his face. "Nate what's wrong?" I asked, wiping his tear.

"It's nothing." He insisted, holding me tighter. "Just it's fine."

"Nathan." He opened his eyes, his fierce blue eyes staring back at me. "I want to make you feel better."

"You are." He kissed my forehead. "You've made a huge difference in my life. Never forget that. Never forget I love you, and if I ever loose you just know you deserve someone better than a stuck up dumb ass like me."

"Nathan. You're not a stuck up dumb ass." I put my hand on his cheek, then he put his hand on mine. "I never want to loose you. I love you."

"I'm tired." He said sitting up, removing me from him.

"Okay. Ill get going then-"

"No" he said lowdly and immediately after I spoke. "No. Please stay." He said quieter now.

"Ok." I said sitting back onto his bed, then laying back down on his chest. Hearing his steady heart beat started to hypnotize me. Suddenly I fell asleep.

I woke up to the warmth of his breath on my neck. I turned and looked at him, still sleeping. He looked so peaceful and cute.

I closed my eyes again. It was a Saturday, nothing to do. I snuggled into him more.

"Babe." Nate grabbed my jacket. "There's a vortex party tonight, do you want to come?" He grinned.

My nose crinkled up, I didn't like those kinds of parties. Getting drunk and high and wasting your life. Nathan frowned when he saw that.

"It's okay you don't have to." He put his arm around me. "You're not pressured into doing anythi-"
