Judge Angels' POV

So my best friend, Helen, has been gone out killing since last night now. He usually only goes out for two, three hours tops, but he's been gone for over ten hours now, just disappeared. I'm really worried about him, he's my best friend! Of course, the others are just usuing that as an excuse to pick on me. In fact, Jeff just plopped down on the couch next to me.

"What's wrong, Angels? Worried about your boyfriend?" Jeff chuckled. Yeah, I get that accusation a lot.

"He's not my boyfriend!" I snapped back at him. He just laughed again.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I almost forgot that Zero was your girlfriend."

I blushed bright red at that one. Me and Zero were friends, and I did have a huge crush on her, but we weren't dating.

"Hey, knock it off, dickwad," a woman's voice said. I knew that voice anywhere.

"Fuck off, Zero, I'm just trying to have some fun," Jeff said, rolling his eyes and getting up off the couch. "Bitch.." he whispered the last part, but Zero still heard it and kicked his foot as we walked off, making him trip on the carpet.

We both laughed as Jeff flipped us off, and Zero sat on the couch next to me. "So.. are you okay or whatever?" She asked. That was the thing about Zero. She always acts like she doesn't care, but I know she really does.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just so worried about Painter.."

"Look, he's gonna be fine, okay? Stop worrying so much, geez.." She said softly.

I nodded but still didn't look directly at her. "Z.. Zero?"

"What?"

"Why did you stick up for me back there?"

She rolled her eyes. "You're actually my friend, why the hell wouldn't I?"

"We don't exactly act like friends.."

Zero sighed. "Look, I know we call each other names and shit, and we're always fighting over some crap that doesn't even matter, but I'd take a bullet for you. You're always there for me. Even when I just want to be left the fuck alone, you're always with me.. even if in the end you always call me a bitch."

I smiled and hugged her. It was a weird impulse, I mean, she is Zero, who doesn't approve of PDA in the slightest, but something just drew me to her. She hesitated, but reluctantly hugged me back. This actually surprised me a bit, and I could feel my face heat up.

"Angels," Zero whispered, almost inaudibly. "I.. I love you.."

I pulled away and look at her. "W-What did you say?"

"N-Nothing!" she all but shouted. "I-I didn't say anything!"

"Really? I-I thought you-"

"N-No! No! I didn't! Get off my back, Jesus Christ!" Zero growled, stomping off upstairs to her room. I ran after her. I knew what she said and I needed to hear it again, just to make sure that this was reality and not just another stupid fantasy. I ran up to her room and opened the door to see her pacing back and forth, biting her nails. Her head immediately whipped around and looked in my direction.

"What do you want?" She demanded.

"I just want to know what you said!" I shot back.

"Nothing, okay?! God damn, why are you so obsessed?!"

"Because if you like someone, you should just tell them instead of walking off like that!" I exploded. Her face turned bright red.

"You... You heard me. Didn't you?"

"Yes," I admitted. "Besides... maybe I like you back..."

"Do you?"

"Yes!" I exclaimed as if she already knew I did, and, in a way, she did, didn't she? "Yes, Zero, I do like you! I like you a lot you big dummy!"  I pulled her in for another hug. She stood there frozen for a moment, before hugging me back.

"I hate you," She said.

"I hate you too," I smirked, pulling away and kissing her on the nose. She rolled her eyes.

"That's gay."

"Oh, shut it you raccoon lookin' ass bitch," I snapped, pulling her down on her bed with me. I wrapped my arms around her. "Aw, Zerooo, you're so small and cute!" She snorted but still cuddled into my embrace. We just laid there talking for a while before eventually falling asleep there together.
