I'm sorry Mama (Part 3)

Camila POV

I never really believed in miracles. There is just something about this word that keeps me from believing that miracles can, in fact, happen sometimes.

That's what I always thought.

But as I was listening to all the doctors in my girlfriends room, trying to communicate, I heard one sentence that will never be forgotten.

'We have her back!'

After that I completely shut down. I didn't hear anything. Just the loud noise of my heartbeat.

I couldn't believe what I heard.

I thought it was over.

I gave up.

Suddenly I saw Maddy running towards me. I opened my arms and she fell right into them.

I held her tight and gave her a kiss on the head.

After two more hours I saw the doctor walking out of her room.

I stood up with Maddy in my arms and approached him.

"Doc? How is she?" I asked him.

"How are you related to Ms.Jauregui?"

" I'm her girlfriend." I said and I think I saw a look of disgust on his face for a second but I ignored it. I just wanted to know how Lauren is doing.

" She was in the process of waking up, but her heart wasn't ready. We're not sure how or why it happened, but we could save her." He said in a monotone voice.

"So, is she awake?" I asked carefully.

" Yes, you can go in and see her. I guess she meant you two then when she said she wants to see her two favorite girls." He said and slightly rolled his eyes. If you wouldn't have payed much attention you wouldn't have noticed, but I did.

I nodded and made my way over to her door.

I took a deep breath and put my hand on the handle. My heart was pounding like crazy. I looked at Maddy and saw that she had a big smile on her face.

'' What are you waiting for Mommy? Let's go inside.'' She said and I nodded.

I slowly opened the door and then I saw her. Immediately tears were rushing down my face. When she saw us, she weakly waved at us and called us over.

I slowly made my way over to her and when I stood directly in front of her she took my hands and smiled at me. I sat down beside her and put my hands on both sides of her face. With my thumbs I started to gently caress her cheek while I stared into her eyes.

Eyes that I thought I would never see again.

'' Hi baby.'' She said and I lost it.

Hearing her voice again was definitely too much for me. I broke down in tears while clinging onto my girlfriend for dear life. When I calmed down a bit I looked at Lauren again and shook my head slightly.

''Please don't ever do that again. '' I said to her with my vision still blurry.

'' I'll try.'' She said and I smiled weakly. '' I love you.'' She finally said and again tears ran down my cheeks.

'' I love you too, baby. So much.''

And thats when it finally happened. We both leaned in and closed the gab between us. I craved this kiss for so long and I put everything I had into this kiss. All the love I have for this woman and all the happiness of having her back.
