Chapter 17: Popularity

I explained everything to Toothless, and as usual, he understood.

He told me to hop on his back, and we'll have a flight.

He signals me, because, well... He can't talk..

We flew.

This is going to be the last time that I'll feel the wind going through me.

"Alright Bud, Ya ready??"

"Grhhhh!!"

"It's a yes to me,"

"So, now, what should we do?"

I ask him, as we were about to land near a cliff.

I hopped off, and rested on the ground.

"Grhah..."

"Huh? Should we... go back?"

"Graaaa."

"Alrighty, last 1 hour bud, I'll miss you.."

"Grahha...." Toothless growled to me, took a step towards me, and he kept on purring and moving his head to me.

I knelt in front of him, and I held his chin with both my hands.

"Take care of the academy, help Astrid, K? Make sure no one flirts with her. If anyone does, fire blast them."

"Graaaughr?!" Toothless growled questionlingy..

"Haha, no, just kidding. I want her to be mine only, I don't share.."

"Graaa."

"Okay, let's go."

I hopped back on him.

We flew, and as we were near, I could see a huge ship from afar.

Hmm... that must be the academy ship.

Pickin up soon-to-be-chiefs of.. well, every island..

The sign on the ship said it all...

I flew a little closely and it IS huge.

Wow, that ship is cool.

"Hmm.. That's cool, bud."

Then, heads started looking up at me.

"OH MY GOD! IS THAT HICCUP!?!"

"Yes! It is Hiccup!!"

"Oh my gosh!!! I need a piece of paper! And a pencil!!"

"SIGN MY FACE!!!!"

My eyebrows raised.

"That is his night fury, right?"

"Yes!!"

"Toothless!!! Hi! Hi! Hi!"

Uhm.... what's happening here??

People waved at us, and girls even... well, blew me kisses.

But you know I won't accept that.

I already have a GF, and she's way better than any girl ever.

"Do you know how much I've waited for you, Hiccup? Come here! Gimme a kiss!!"

"Kiss me, fool!!!"

Even the sailors screamed at me.

I regret saying that.

I flew back to Berk and.. well, I should be polite.

So, I waved.

"Oh my G!!!!!"

Ugh....

I flew back to Berk, and I ran to the Great Hall to ask dad why the heck people know me.

"Dad!!!"

He was arm wrestling Gobber.

"Dad!"

"Wha-?"

Gobber looked my way, and Dad made his 'signature move'. He pushed his hand, and eventually, Gobber lost.

Again.

Toothless ran home to get some water and cod for him to eat.

"Dad!"

"Haha! Hi, son! I won! Ag- I mean, Hi, son."

"Dad..... did you say anything to those people?"

"Noooo....."

I gave him my 'Just say it' look.

"Alright fine, every island knows your name. EVERY ISLAND. That's on the same sea as we are."

"Well, since they all know me, why can't I just bring Toothless?"

"Son, 1 word. FOCUSED. You must be focused, you and Toothless always go on flights, and In the academy, you myst be focused on everything. Given tasks, exercises, work outs and training!! "

Alright, fine.. I guess there's no way around this, huh??

"Dad, how did they know me?"

"Uhm, a lot of islands questioned what happened to the Red Death's nest, ot.. The 'Dragon's Nest'.. And a few of our ships were left there, and they came to our island, as they arrived, it was the time when you guys were arranging the academy."

"Andd... "

"You guys were somewhere else. Exploring..."

"Aaand?"

"Ugh, they saw all the dragons, and since we're the first ever island to make peace with dragons, they.... all believed us, and the news spread, and... well, Your fanous..."

"Dad, I don't wanna be famous."

"Well, too bad, you are."

"Ugh, why are you doing this?"

"Doing what?"

"Bragging ME."

"Doesn't matter son, you'll be a great leader. You have a good heart, you know how."

"Dad...."

"Off with this, now. I must arrange some problem with Bucket and Mulch. Bye, son. I'll be back when the ship is here. Alright?"

"Yeah."

Dad walked out, and Gobber patted my shoulder, and said:

"He's right. You're a great guy. Brains instead if Brawns? That's almighty, alrighty."

Gobber left, leaving me there.

I have nothing else to do.

I ran to the edge of a cliff, and I slightly move my feet in a kicking stance.

My metal leg made a clinging sound as the back of it is being hit by the edge of the cliff.

As for my other leg, I formed it in a stance where I'll be able to place my head on to.

I did these two actions, thinking about.. well, How I can handle popularity so big like that...
