"You're getting stronger," he complimented. "Thanks." I grabbed an apple from his desk. He chuckled, "Silly girl." I started playing with the necklace he gave me, "I never told you were I got that, did I?" Ivan asked. I shook my head, looking up at him. He patted the seat next to him, "Want to learn?" I nodded quickly and jumped up next to him.

---

"I got it from another world, called Edolas." I giggled, no way this is a real story.

"I assure you it's real," He could always read my thoughts," Unlike our world, they don't have enough magic for everyone to use as much as they please. They barely have any at all. None of their people can use magic, so they use items that allow them ti use a small amount of the land's magic." There was no way Ivan was telling the truth, but then again, why would he lie? We spent hours talking about this place, my attention never leaving him.

It was about 11 o'clock before I got back to the bedroom. I went in as quietly as I could, but unfortunately, some of the other girls were awake. "There's Mrs.Braginski." Nisha said in her own sassy tone, I had a strong dislike for her. "How was your date with the mister?" Chori smirked, i hated it when they did this. They thought something was going on between Ivan and I. Sometimes I want to put a barrier around her bed with magic. I decided against it. I would just get sent to Mr.Jones' office. "We aren't together!" I said, sitting on my bed and pulling my journal out and filling up yet another page.

Once I was finished, Chori came up and took the journal from my hands. I tried to get it back, but she stopped me with magic. She started reading it out loud. Thankfully, she skimmed over the parts about my necklace, she only read about my dreams of finding a boy who was willing to go through everything for me. She busted into giggles, "No way anybody could love you. You probably couldn't even get a dragon to love you." I didn't cry. There were no tears left to cry.

I broke her spell and ran to Ivan's office. He was a father to me, somebody I could trust. He gave me a confused look when I ran into the office. I told him about everything, he simply smirked and said, "I'll have a word with Mr.Jones, you go and set up some barriers around them, make it very tricky to decode." I smiled, and without thinking I said, "Thank you dad!" I covered my mouth quickly. "I'm sorry Ivan, I di-" He cut me off, "It's fine Levy." I smiled bigger and ran back to the bedroom. Chori and her gang were whispering about something, I couldn't care less. I started reading Romeo and Juliet again, waiting for them to fall asleep.

After a fun day of watching Chori try to undo the enchantment. Ivan took me out for some ice cream. " Good job, Levy." I giggled, "That was nothing." He chuckled and ate a bite of ice cream. I took a bite from mine as we turned the corner into a dark ally. I held Ivan's hand and he told me everything was going to be all right. About halfway through, a man held a gun to Ivan's head and said lowly, "Give me your money." Ivan gulped, "I do not have any on me." I hid behind Ivan, the man gave me a sick and twisted smile. "Then I'll take the girl." Ivan gave a disgusted face, "Over my dead body."

"So be it."

That's when I heard the gunshot, and a thud from Ivan hitting the found. I saw the blood pool around my feet, rushing out of my father's chest, that image forever burned into my mind right before I was knocked out.
