Part Three

After breakfast, Shawn and I walked to the bus stop as always. It was a beautiful day for living in Canada, the birds were singing and the cold wind wasn't blowing as hard.

"I love singing, Laur." Shawn's voice interrupts the singing of nearby birds. "But I love being here. With you. And my family. I love you being my neighbor and singing to you every night. Everything's going to change. My dad is completely taking over... I have no say in any of this. He just wants me to use my talent and make good Money."

I looked up at him, puzzled. It was crazy the amount of height difference there was.

"Shawn, you don't need to worry about

Me. This is all you. You have such an amazing voice and the world deserves to hear it."

"But what if I don't want them too. What if I'm only fifteen and things are moving too fast and I don't have the authority to stop it. What if things change and I lose people."

My heart broke alittle. He was working so hard to keep his career and singing along with his grades and social life. Before I could say anything Shawn continued breaking my heart.

"This is my last studio session before everything changes. You mean so much to me, Lauren. When I found out my dad already booked everything, I knew you had to come."

Shawn looked down. I could tell he was having a hard time telling me this. He was holding back tears and I was too shocked to cry. I realized why this trip mean't so much to him. This was our goodbye.
