Mavus had no clue what really happened. She was just wondering around and the next thing she knew, she found herself in a hidden passage. Surprisingly, there were no exits.

"Last time I checked, I didn't even used my portal ability... How in the world did I get in this place?" the brunette wondered out loud as she felt two presences. She turned to the direction and found two weapons.

"Whoa there... Please don't tell me these two brought me here. I did not sign up for this... I don't want to get possessed by evil demons... BEGONE, YOU EVIL DWELLERS!" she sighed as she ended up approaching the two weapons. Strangely enough, she felt two forces trying to make her choose between the two weapons.

"I can sense your pain and I offer you a way to heal your wounds," a masculine voice whispered in her head. As proof that the male voice really exists, there was a vision that flashed before her. She saw a black-haired man, whose soul was forcefully bounded to a demon by his mother, screaming in pain as he was being burned alive. His cry for help reached nobody's ears as the people around him just watched him and repeatedly called him a demon. This made his eyes glow black as he let loose of his abilities and drained the life of the fire burning him so he could heal. He lost control of his abilities and began draining the life of everyone and everything around him.

The man then faced her and spoke, "I do not wish to see you end up like me so I will heal you and take away your pain. Child, I choose you and only you as my owner."

The vision then ended as she looked at the silver key staff. The girl was silent as she had no idea what just happened. She was about to leave, as she did not want to get involved at all after watching numerous fantasy movies of heroes picking up weapons and end up getting in big trouble, until she heard another voice.

"I can hear the voice that always fall on deaf ears. I heard your silent pleas, my child. I offer you a way to protect all the hope the remains within you," a female voice spoke as another vision appeared before her.

There was brown-haired and tanned skinned woman who helplessly and fearfully watched death draining the lives of many. Countless innocent people fell lifelessly on the ground and the plants all withered as all signs of life were slowly being drained out one by one. The woman cried and pleaded for death to stop, but death itself couldn't hear her as she was too late. The moon watches as she pleaded to the heavens to help her save her town in the exchange of her fate.

The moon heard her pleas and granted her an ability to save her town. Her eyes glowed white as cracks of white began spreading all over her body. She then faced death as her hair was turning white and her skin turning pale. The fear she was feeling called upon the desperation to save her world. As the white cracks grew wider and longer, death was encased in a portal cage as she was humming a faint tune.

'I will do everything just to save my world. Take us somewhere. Take us to a world where he can be stopped.'

The next thing happened was the two individuals falling into the white portal below them. They both ended up in a different world. A different universe.

The white cracks on the woman instantly withdrew on her left eye. The said eye immediately bled as she felt a sharp pain as if something stabbed her eye. As she held her bleeding eye, she faced the girl and spoke, "I was too late to save the others and I do not wish to witness you end up like me. I will aid you and protect you in battles with my ability so that you can protect those who are dear to you. I choose you and only you as my owner."

The vision ended as she faced another weapon, this time inside a pouch. Mavus' eye twitched as she just wanted to get this over with so she reached for the two weapons and mumbled, "If those people I saw and heard were you guys... Imma adopt the both of you..."

"CHOOSE ONLY ONE!" the voices boomed in her head. She immediately flinched and glared at the two weapons as she did not expect that to happen.

"O-oi... Why not both?" she asked as she rubbed her temples to recover from the voices.

"I offer healing as I am darkness!"

"I offer protection as I am the moon's light!"

She just froze and gave the two weapons a weird look. She quickly turned around and spoke, "Nope! No thank you! I'll go home now as I do not want to get involved with this. I saw something like this in the movies and it did not end well for the characters. Welp... I'll go... K thanks bai!"

"CHOOSE ME!" both voices demanded as she yelped in surprise. She turned to the two weapons once more and saw two ghostly figures: the blue-eyed man from the first vision, and the blue-eyed woman from the second vision.

The black-haired man looked at the russet-eyed girl in the eyes and whispered, "One of us will be yours and the other will be nobody's as we both chose you. There can only be one."

The white-haired woman, now with an eye-patch on her left eye, bowed and spoke softly, "we share the same dream, but the two of us will never get along. If you pick the both of us up, we will just cause you more suffering as we were both cursed to choose the same owner."

"But only one of us should be chosen," the man continued as he closed his eyes.

"A price we pay just to save our world. A price we pay to the moon for giving us salvation," the woman whispered sadly as she turned around.

"So what will you choose?" the both of them asked.

"Healing in exchange of life?" the man asked.

"Or protection in exchange of the path you are supposed to take?" the woman continued.

"The power to defeat the odds or the hope to protect the others?" they both asked in unison as they looked at her and continued, "Which one are you willing to sacrifice? The lives of your enemies, or your fate?"

She gulped as she did not know what to choose. Both are actually promising to her. As she watched both figures extend their hands for her to reach, she just silently weighed her options. Mavus honestly was planning to go for the man's offer, but she realized that she would be no different from her father if she chose him.

"I'll sacrifice my fate... For hope," she mumbled as she watched the man's hand dropped to his side in defeat. She gave the man an apologetic bow and said, "I can't afford to be like father. I really love your offer, but it doesn't suit me at all."

She then reached for the woman's hand and the ghosts vanished. On her hand was the weapon that was hidden inside the pouch.

"May Haliya be the right choice for you," the man spoke as his voice faded.

"And may Bakunawa be the right guardian for this secret," the woman's voice echoed as the content of the pouch glowed white.

"And as for whatever my fate is supposed to be, rip me..." the girl sighed and eyed the key staff as she placed the pouch in her pocket. She honestly wanted to wield the key staff as it looked really awesome, but she knew it doesn't suit her at all. Whatever weapon was inside that pouch, she told herself that it might be the right one for her.

"I have no words in all of this... I definitely did not signed up for this... I... Explored the city too much so rip me..." she sweat dropped as she just rubbed her temples as she mentally scolded herself that she could have just chosen no one at all.

"Please don't make me regret my life's choices again..."
