Bakunawa just finished draining another intruder's life when a newspaper fell inside his glass case. He began to wonder why it got there, but he knew who could have put that inside. He began reading the newspaper and his eyes widened in surprise.

Burning building in Istoresya, Night singer of Thoren found dead.

Bakunawa's ghostly form froze as he read the headlines and the content of the article. The article says that there was a brunette spotted by the locals and she was entering the building with oranges. Multiple explosions were heard while the building was burning. The building had collapsed and the only body found was the girl's body. The picture showed the corpse and much to his horror, it was Mavus.

"Why didn't you do anything, Haliya?" he asked as he was holding himself back from raging. He looked to his right and saw the butterfly knife back in its case. Haliya's ghost form showed up and she was sitting on her glass case.

"She told me not to interfere," she simply replied as she looked at him with a face void of emotions. The moment Bakunawa looked into her eyes, he already knew. He sighed and looked at the newspaper again.

"So what is going to happen now?"

Haliya looked at the ceiling and hummed, "A war is brewing. She did that in order to reduce all the possible casualties of the upcoming war."

The key staff went silent as he couldn't believe his owner did all of that. He was not expecting Mavus to do something this reckless. Sure, she chose to give up her fate in exchange of hope, but this was not supposed to happen. The butterfly knife's spirit glanced at Bakunawa and heaved a sigh.

"Worry not, Bakunawa. Whatever happened to her, she is our only master," she mumbled as she remembered how Mavus let loose of her powers. It was all a blur as Mavus was really doing a lot of things really fast. It wasn't her ability, yes, but she was maximizing the use of her portal creation ability. The next thing Haliya knew, there were explosions then fire and darkness battling each other. She remember a maniacal laughter of a woman whom Mavus was battling.

Much to her dismay, Mavus lost and Haliya had to return here in this cave holding onto the empty promise of Mavus saying she would be okay.

"She will be okay because she promised," she tried convincing herself as her voice cracked. Bakunawa's ghostly form approach her and pulled her in an embrace. They were just weapons after all which was why they couldn't do anything for their owner. These two weapons treated Mavus as their child because she was the child the both of them wished for.

"If she promised that she will be okay, then she will," he whispered to her softly as he leaned his forehead onto hers while closing his eyes.
