Aasim's POV

"Excuse me please." Someone tapped me on the shoulder. I looked up to see the doctor smiling at me. Why is he smiling when my wife is in there only God knows if she'll live or not!

He handed me a paper. "Here is the result. Congratulations, your wife is two months pregnant". I paused looking at the doctor. "Ar.. Are you serious?" I was stupefied and happy at the same time. I shook hands with the Doctor and thanked him.

"Can I see her please?" I asked. I have to apologize for acting childish. "Yes you can." He directed me to the room she's in. She was sleeping peacefully. I moved closer and gently placed my hand on her hair. I kissed her forehead and quietly went out. I went to a nearby bouquet shop and bought red roses for her.

I went back to the hospital. I met Hafsa sitting down on the bed. She hugged her legs. Is she crying? Ya Allah what have I done? "Hafsa." I slowly called her name. She looked up. "What are you doing here?" She glared at me. I moved close to her and sat on the bed beside her with the roses and paper in my hand.

"I'm sorry." I murmured. "Forgive me please." I smiled. "I wasn't mad at you at the first place." She sniffed. I hugged her and gave her the rose and paper. "What's this?" She asked. "Just read it." I grinned. She sniffed again unfolding the paper.

"I.. I'm pregnant." She read out in a low voice. I hugged her tight "I'm sorry Hafsa" I whispered. "Aasim I forgive you. Just don't do that again please. You scared me." She whispered. "Insha Allah I won't do it again. I promise." I hugged her tighter. "What do you want to eat now?" I asked breaking the hug. "Chips and scrambled eggs." She grinned. "Done! I'll be back with it."

"Salamu alaykum." The door opened and mama came in. "My daughter are you alright?" Mama hugged her. "Yes mama I'm fine" she replied. Ammi came in too. "My dear how are you feeling?" Ammi asked. "Ammi I'm fine alhamdulillah." She replied, smiling. I handed the paper to them before leaving. I could her them praising and praying.

I fried chips and egg for her with tea. I arranged everything in a basket and went back to the hospital. I met only mama and Hafsa. "Where's Ammi?" I asked. I was kinda disappointed. Why will she leave? "She said she left visitors at home but she'll be back soon." Mama answered. "Okay." I murmured.

Mama stayed a bit before she left. I went to the mosque and prayed zuhr. I went back into the hospital. I sat down beside Hafsa. "How are you feeling now?" I asked holding her hand. She placed her head on my shoulder. "I feel happy." She replied looking at the blank space.

"Hey where's Chu Chu?" She raised her head up and looked at me. "At basma's place." I replied. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder. "Tell me." she started. "Tell you what?" I questioned "Why were you avoiding me?"

I sighed. And hesitated before talking. "inna jummai went to baba about Maimuna and I. She told him I liked Maimuna and I want to marry her. Baba called and asked if its true. I told him I wasn't interested in getting married again. That's when the fight started between me and inna jummai.

I was really furious. That Time I just felt like not talk to anybody. I was really angry and anything can happen when I'm angry." I finished talking and looked at her. "Thank God inna jummai is not baba's Elder sister. She would've forced him to make me marry her daughter. " I added.

She didn't say a word. She just laid her head on my shoulder. I placed my head on hers. We were both engrossed in our thoughts. It just felt right. "I'm hungry. She broke the silence. I chuckled. "You just finished eating."
