i am busy reading h is for hawk by helen macdonald. it seems so alien to me, everything she describes and talks about, but there is this underlying very familiar feel. the detachments, attachments. i feel mabel (!) so much more than i feel the author, but i can only do that because of how she wrote the book and what she says.
