Please forgive me for not updating in a while; school has been picking up these past weeks.

Also, my phone is doing this weird thing where I️t capitalizes the letter 'I️' in certain words and I️t shows up as a bunch of bs as you can see here:

Laz wiped sweat from his forehead with a dirty towel that he'd been given. Giovanni had him doing the craziest shit nowadays.

Clean this, clean that.

Laz was tired of it and he had recently been regretting dropping out of med school. He could've graduated by now. He could've been doing better things than this.

However, Laz got paid good—no, great. So he complained in silence.

As Laz continued cleaning and allowing his thoughts to run wild, Giovanni popped his bald head through the doorway.

Laz pretended he didn't sense Giovanni's presence and continued cleaning. He already knew that Giovanni was examining Iris's sleeping body.

"She good." Laz mumbled while rolling his eyes. He didn't understand why Giovanni was constantly checking up on Iris; he was the one who had put her in the state she was in in the first place. Unlike Giovanni, Laz respected women. He didn't always make them as happy as they'd like to be, but he respected them. That's what mattered to him.

Giovanni nodded his head and gave Iris a glance over again right before leaving. He returned about thirty seconds later.

"I forgot to give you this." He handed Laz some papers, a MacBook, and other office supplies. "I went by her university and got her work from her professors."

Laz took the materials and placed them onto the counter next to him nonchalantly.

Now he wanna have a heart. Nigga don't got no heart. He thought to himself.

The anger he'd felt suddenly disappeared as he realized that Giovanni had said university, meaning the girl was in college.

He softened the mean mug that he hadn't realized was plastered on his face and shook his head. He knew that if Iris continued to crumble under Giovanni all the time, she would end up like he did: a college dropout who was working for a complete slob.

Laz, from previous experience with Giovanni and his women, knew that he would eventually pimp her out, get her pregnant, or both.

"Can't let that happen." He mumbled to himself, knowing that Iris, although stubborn and way too nosy, could do so much better than this.
