Hey guys, same thing applies for this chapter; my lazy self still hasn't updated my phone so the keyboard problem still exists. Next time—if the problem still remains—I'll use my laptop instead. 😒 Please excuse any mistakes. Enjoy loves💕Newark, New Jersey

Life is not a gift.
Living a lie,
Being stuck in my own skin
Is this even my skin?
There's not a day that goes by that I️ am not haunted by the spirit of unhappiness,
The spirit of fear,
The spirit of depression and anxiety.
This hurts, but this does not define me.
I'm in need love and affection, not a pat on the back
Will we ever be happy with who we are?
How we look?
The things that we love?
Only God knows right now.
I'll continue to live, but I️ don't know if I'll continue any longer.
I️ don't know how long I'll be able to accept the plague that is life.• • •
He watched her intently as she ate. She ate gluttonously, as she hadn't been eating for the past few days; he had finally gotten her to eat something.
"Stop watching me." She said with a mouth full of steak.
He smiled and continued to run his eyes across her body despite her request.
She rolled her eyes.
"Weirdo." She said after struggling to swallow some rice.
For the past few days, life together had been difficult for the two, and this was due to simple things.
Iris hated when people watched her.
Laz loved to stare at people.
He hated when people misplaced things or left things laying around.
She always left things out of order.
Both struggled with the petty likes and dislikes of each other, but were slowly getting over them; they had no choice seeing as both of them were basically on someone's hit list.
Iris had tried to forget about Giovanni, yet he was always trespassing her thoughts and memories.
A good thing? No.
She'd been having nightmares every other night or so, and they were all about Giovanni.
Because Laz hadn't gotten the guest room ready yet—due to his laziness—he was currently sleeping on the couch every night. The uncomfortableness of the stiff loveseat combined with Iris screaming in the middle of the night didn't ease his stress one bit.
He constantly ran to her rescue whenever he heard her screams and didn't mind embracing her in his arms until her vigorous hyperventilating ceased.
She often confused him. For the past few nights that Iris had been staying with Laz, she'd been vulnerable due to the nightmares; however, the very next morning she had no problem pushing him away and ignoring the fact that he had basically taken her into refuge.
